Walter Becker, co-founder of Steely Dan died today at age 67. No details of the cause of death have been reported yet.

Predictably people are claiming rumors of Becker's demise are exaggerated already...
If you are not aware, Becker has been declared dead on previous occasions only to return from the media grave.
There is a companion story attributed to Donald Fagen confirming Becker's death. This story was released Sunday. Fagen also suggests he intends to continue Steely Dan as a touring entity. He must need a lot money to maintain his lifestyle.
Old hipsters never die... even when dead.

an inspiring musician has left us, but his music will live on

Indeed. Steely Dan came onto the scene just as my cover band days were coming to a close. They were like a musical breath of fresh air at the time and I enjoyed learning and playing a few of their early tunes, up to, as I recall, "Rikki Don't Lose That Number," which was my favorite.

all the other media copy eachother with all those platitudes, but this article had way more depth
