the legend dies at 69

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Evel Knievel, the red-white-and-blue-spangled motorcycle daredevil whose jumps over crazy obstacles including Greyhound buses, live sharks and Idaho's Snake River Canyon made him an international icon in the 1970s, died Friday. He was 69."

Evel to me was the epitome of the heavy metal lifestyle. crazy, rebellios, answered to no one, and took no shit.....you will be missed, sir. you will be missed.

I remember watching his jumps growing up. I still have a vivid memory of watching his failed Snake River Canyon jump on ABC's Wide World of Sports. Ah..."the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat..." One of my older brothers even had an Evil Knievel lunch box.

I wonder just how many bicycle accidents he inspired during the 70s...

Somewhat ironic that he apparently died of *natural causes.*

Still, kind of young at 69.

Remember all those great toys? The stunt cycle with gyro action launcher, the scramble van, the rocket cycle, the pimp cane. (scramble van and rocket cycle sold separately).
