Saturday, November 24 2007 @ 11:47 PM CST

Problem .... when I click on a song I am prompted to install Apple QT .... (or Active X) .. which I do ... but song STILL won't play .... I am using IE7. Please fix this buggy bug ... I am forced to download every song to listen to it ... frustrating.

I have had problems with IE7, too. That's at work. I've been downloading songs to listen. It's a browser problem, that I just have been letting go, because I do most of my listening at home. Still, if there are potential listeners out there who can't hear my music because of a fixable bug, I'd like to see the glitch solved, too.

I had all kinds of probs with Safari along with others, for a good while and I resisted swapping over to Firefox, but eventually had to. It was worth the change for the sake of my blood pressure... and now that the prob with Safari is fixed, I can choose which of the two browsers I use.

It's never too late.... is it?

I just verified that I didn't have any problems at work where I use
IE v6.0.2800.1106C0 on a Windows 2000 Professional machine, running
Quicktime 7.1.6 for the streaming of the .mp3s on MJs... not that
that info is much use to you, sorry Frown

Does sound like a local IE7, Windows OS, streaming plug-in used version
problem now .. since the other wide-spread trouble seems resolved now.

have you tried streaming .mp3s from any other music site (say) icompositions, just to see if the problem still exists?

A grumble I have with IE is it is hard to find which 3rd party plug-in apps are used (for MIME types) and which version of them you have installed at any given time, when there is trouble. Computers huh?

Using Win XP Pro, IE 7.0.5730.11 QT 7.1.6, not having any problems with the QT player on the song pages....

You might try checking if the plug-in is listed and enabled for QT:

Tools -> Manage Add-ons -> Enable or Disable Add-ons, select "Add-ons that run without requiring permission" from the drop-down list and look for "Quick Time Object", should be selected and set to Enabled if it's there.....
