Thanks Mr. Bill! You are one of the main attractions to Macjams that has kept
me coming back all these months. Your support and the pleasure of hearing
your great guitar work has made my time here very fullfilling!

Bring on the Bronco
Thanks Steve! Should have let mando take more than one solo as he was
brilliant! I put some flange on the harmonica as well as reverb and echo to
get that sound.

Really Enjoyed the remix
Bronco,

The mandolin moved to the beginning was a good move
(and very excellent playing) I noticed the bass as well
I think this is the 3rd version (correct me if I am wrong)
I think this is the best and you really put some work into it
Getting very good at mixing and song structure (solo's )

Great Piece

Really Enjoyed the remix
Hi David, always good to hear from you. I like to think I'm getting better at
the mixing but still find it very hard to do. So many decisions to make and it
sounds one way through headphones, another way through speakers, yet
again different after sent to iTunes and finally a little differnt on Macjams.
Anyway thanks for the support and all of your good comments and
suggestions.

Great relaxed melancholy vibe
Nice remix, bronco! Lovely strong vocal which sounds both polished
and heartfelt. I like the way you've used the reverb to help blend
everything together. The song has a really chilled-out vibe despite the
despair expressed in the lyrics ... a really nice contrast. The mandolin
player's not bad either ;-)

Great relaxed melancholy vibe
Thanks Ms.Rebsie. I was going for a Dylan-like third person attitude here
which worked well for the sort of song it was. Mando was brilliant as usual.
Should have had him play more on this.

Like this one alot
Very nice mandolin. Like the way the bass carries this song and the
pieces of harmonica here and there. Vocals are right on. Great a
Mississippi sound. We need some of that rain over here.

Regards
John

Hey, you are right about the rain. We got one little shower last week that
saved my lawn but that's been it. Thanks for the kind remarks on the song.
mandolinquent played the mandolin and is a great musician. The harmonica
had a little flanger effect on it which I think gave it a unique sound.

Thanks for the heads-up!
This is a neat and moody tune, bronco...

I like your vocal a lot, for starters... and the harmony vocals come in
nicely...Rich seems a good pick for a vocal collaborator for you...It
almost sounds like more tracks of you... that shows that Rich was really
going for YOUR sound, I think...

The recording/mixing of mando's mandolin stuff is some of the best
I've heard from him...maybe it's the reverb used or something, but the
mandolin itself has body and resonance in this that's real nice... you
gave him a lot of space to stretch out here...

The harmonica sound is great,too...

I'm of two minds on the bass, myself. At the beginning it seems like a
good, firm anchor, but as the song goes on I find myself wanting more
of a swing in there... just as firm, just as spare, but maybe a little more
hint of melody or harmony, a slur here or there...something like a good
stand-up player would do...

That's my only tiny piece of crit, though... I didn't hear any other
versions, but this one's quite fine...

Thanks for the heads-up!
Hey Ed, thanks for the wonderful review. I enjoyed your thoughtful remarks.

I re-recorded my lead vocal on this version, so I am actually singing with
Richard rather than the other way around as it was the first time. Perhaps that
is why we sound similar.

I was pround of the bass because I am admittedly not a good bass player. For
me just to find a pattern that worked was out of the ordinary. I agree that
some variation would have added to the song but that is not yet technically in
my grasp! I will keep working on it though.

The mandolin part that mando sent me seemed to have been mastered at a
lower volume than the rest of the song. So to try and bring up the volume this
time so that it would be upfront, I added some compression and used the eq
to raise the midrange volume.

Again, thanks for the insightfull review!

It is raining!
The guitar sound was cool and Mandolin was great! Gotta get myself one!

It is raining!
Thanks brother b. You should get a mandolin. It's fun to learn a new
instrument. I have struggled learning dobro but it's worth it and I get a thrill
whenever I actually hit some good licks.

Nice track!
Great vocals Tom (and Richard), and a nice tune as well. I have to
admit that the bass bugged me a bit, but it has the impact of making
the song a bit different too, which is a good thing. Maybe this is one
of those songs where it could stand up without a bassline - who
knows! On second listen, a sparse standup bass would suit it really
well - good call from Ed - give it a sort of Astral Weeks feel. Nice
track! Mando rocks!
