Lyrics
Keep on truckin mama, truckin all my blues away, keep on truckin mama, truckin both night and day
I heard the rooster say to the hen, I ain't had no lovin since I don't know when
I heard the bullfrog say to the snake, the more you wiggle the more I can take
If you been doin what I think you been doin you can't do that round here
What's that smell, smells like fish but oh lordy, lordy what a dish
I heard the little dog say to the cow, I know why but I don't know how

nice licks and singing
This tune is full of melodic character, you bring out a lot of melody in
your voice and texture to boot. This is a fun h hear ! :)

Good going, like those low note textures as well.

there is
nothing quite like some soulful self assured blues ....and u deliver quite
nicely thank you!......i can imagine some hobo's around the campfire
boiling some leather shoes and singin the blues.....and also a saloon
singer with a broken piano who picks up the guitar and sings his heart
out.....and also.......ehhehhehhe

Well I'm not quite to hobo status yet but if food prices keep going up I will
remember the tip about the leather shoes. Thanks for listening and digging
it!!

So laid back its horizontal!
So laid back its horizontal! Front porch style, can hear the crickets
chirping (well at least I hope thats what they're up to) and can see the
moon in the clear sky. Great fun tune Tom.

Thanks Neil, I do take great pride in that concept of a front porch picker.
Someone who is not great but when friends drop by can always whip out
some tunes for the folks. My only regret is that I didn't get to retire to a ranch
house out in the country with a substantial porch. I do have one on this house
but is very small and I am in suburbia crammed together with neighbor's
dogs barking and siren's wailing.

Irresistable
Love it! I immediately started singing counterpart (that's my truest test
as to whether I like a song -- when I can't resist singing). This is just a
really fun, traditional piece.

Irresistable
It is a fun tune isn't it. I was embarrassed to put it in the explicit category
because compared to the rap, etc. this is almost a children's tune. Anyway,
sing it some more and I will be harmonizing over here.

Just the Title
Got me thinking of Eddie Kendricks (and Robert Crumb), not Hot Tuna. :)
Good solid performance here of this oldie.

Just the Title
Now that I think about it, Crumb would probably prefer this one to Kendricks's
soul tune.

Just the Title
Hey Mungo, I'm not familiar with either of those versions. i will see if iTunes
has them. Lot's of folks have done this tune through the years. The first time I
heard it was a nameless cute girl was singing it in Yellowstone Park one
summer that I worked there. I was impressed both with the song and the girl.
Nuff said!

Just the Title
If you listen to the Kendricks one, you'll recognize it if you were listening to
radio 30 years ago but it's obviously not the same tune. :)

Classic Folk
this is a very nice folk tune. It reminds me of when my family use to
gather around an old folk song book and start singing. Thanks for the
memories. The lyrics weren't quite that way though.

John

I love to play guitar. I have been writing songs for many years and have a large catalog by this time. Songwriting is easy. Writing great songs is hard! Born in Louisiana and live in Texas. I grew up on Chuck, Jerry Lee, Elvis, Ricky, Little Richard ... [see more]
