Going To Peachtree City

Description
My wife and I are selling our house near San Francisco and going to Peachtree City in Gorgia. We are going to be looking at it at first. But so far it is our first choice. Time will tell.

This is a pretty darn big deal for us. I was born and raised in San Francisco until i was 11, then moved to the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge. So when I look at San Francisco now I get that real deep nostalgia feeling. I have worked in San Francisoc for decades.

If I had to pick a place to live
in the States, it would be Georgia.

Can't wait to hear those southern-fried influences on Betsy. Sounds
like she's rarin' to go on this one :)

Maybe I'll meet Gregg Allman again, after he dated my first tenant I never heard
from him again.

Thanks snow

That really
is a big deal! I've been to Georgia a few times and it is really nice down there. Too hot for me though! This is some beautiful playing, really full of passion and the chord changes really take you on a journey. I love that rich guitar sound, and the strings are excellent subtle touches.

Haven't hear this kind of guitar ambience...
since JA's "Embryonic Journey." I like this better because of the strings.
Although (and here am I---criticizing thetiler!) there are places where the
srtings overwhelm the guitar picking. This is a mistake to my ears. Your
playing is outstanding as per usual and should, therefore, STAND OUT!
Nevertheless, this goes on my list of faves Bill. I hope the move turns out
well for you and the wife.

Bless you!

Very nice piece.
Some pretty classical guitar licks, especially the thirds. I like the form of
the piece, pensive beginning, followed by the 'rarin' to go, no looking
back' section. I like your mix of strings with the guitar, but as the
conductor said, the guitar was occasionally overwhelmed by the string
bed. Nevertheless, this piece was a delight to listen to, and will be added
to my 'tiler' downloads. Oh, good luck with the decisionmaking about this
big step in your lives.

Very nice piece.
Thanks kristyjo, I am apprehensive about peachtree a bit cause it seems that
Peachtree is a pre planned community. They have rules and regulations that I am
not sure I want to be there. But maybe somewhere close that will have a decent
amount of trees and foliage. Maybe on a hill were it won't flood etc.

Thanks for posting, I appreciate your comments.

Peachtree City is close to my home
I live about 30 minutes from the PTC. Its a nice sleeper community with
plenty of running and nature trails. Quite a bit of live music (CSN and
the like) in the summer as well. Nice Place.
For some reason, when I hear this song I picture a bicycle race. The
climb in the beginning, the descents. RICH.

PTC is nice...
My folks lived there for a couple of years while he was stationed outside of Atlanta. It's a nice place...first time I really grasped the "planned community" thing...kinda nice that McDonalds can't build the huge golden arches and such. Pretty part of the country, all in all.

I think I notice a little different approach on your performance in this piece. It seams like you have a more tender touch on Betsy' strings. It may be those brilliant discrete strings that makes a soft bed for Betsy to lay on.

Beatiful and masterful.

Wish you luck on selling the house, and hope you will be happy in Geargia.

Glad I didn't miss this one!
Bill, I must admit that your incredible output (all good by the way!) and
the limited hours in a day, sometimes means I don't get to listen to
everything you do. I'm really glad this isn't one that I missed. I don't
know PTC (or Georgia for that matter) although I've been to SF - if this
is what you produce before this move, then I can only say it sounds like
you are really excited (and maybe a little uncertain) about such a big
change. Although I like the strings in places, I think I'd have preferred
just you and Betsy on this one. Betsy just sounds so beautiful on this
song, and your fingers sound so totally in control. CSN play in PTC eh
.... they'd better watch out!
All my very best wishes for this move Bill- hope it works out really well
for you both.

As far as the distance between the two, it is prett much coast to coast. But it will
be a fun ride in my quade cab truck if we stop to smell the roses on the way.
Check out historic places, basically have some fun along the way. But my wife
and i are going to be taking a plane flight before hand hopefully to buy a house
we both can be happy with.

Thanks again

hurtin abit now, just had a incredibly large truck (24 yards) unload a bunch of
wood chips onto the front of my house. I guess that didn't do my back good
cause I can feel it pretty much. My body builder son helped me when he got of
work. So that helped, he was lifting garbage can full of wood chips(grass etc) by
himself. I don't want to do that, too dangerous for me:) I have to fill a great big
whole in the ground were it collects water from the rain in the back yard.

Thanks for stoppin by!

Just Peachy...
I was just thinking about you the other day, Bill... I'm sitting here (ouch!)
with a bottle of Flexeril, after spraining my lower back on Easter Sunday.
And today I discovered this wonderful new tune.

I like it just the way it is... I think the strings work well with your guitar
work (some really nice guitar work, BTW). It's got a wonderful sense of
motion going on, that could be interpreted in so many different ways.

Best wishes to you and your wife on this big move, Bill. Bound to be a
source of new inspiration for you. ;-)

Funny, I'm leaving here heading to visit peachtree town in a few weeks
You are definitely going places here, Bill - There is the sense of
reflecting, initiated by a taste of sadness, but followed up w/ the
hopeful glimmers of good hope and expectation all rolled into to this
traveling piece - If the result of this transition w/ you, your wife and
family is anything like the results of your ability to display excellence in
musicianship, then the two of you are again, in good hands - This is a
wonderful piece of course and as well, I have come to expect nothing
less from you.

Thanks for sharing this reflection alongside w/ this part of your life w/
us, as it certainly is the type of beauty to behold... - Truly - Dion

To tell you the truth, when I listen to it I am hearing fog horns for the cello at
the start. Not that I intended it to be that way. But I really feel, at least lately is I
am hearing the fog horn like when you hear it when ships pass under the golden
gate bridge on one of those typical ultra foggy days. . It gives me a feeling of
moisture in the weather, which I am sure I'll miss when it comes to those hot
days in Gorgia. But the excitment is there when I realize some of the real bright
sides of moving there. That is if all goes well.

Thanks much for posting

Good luck, Tiles.
Before I go on about Georgia for a minute, I gotta comment on this
song: Wonderful as usual. The string sound compliments it
beautifully. Very fancy picking. Love it.

Now, I want to wish you guys the best of luck with your move. I know
how you feel when you said you get nostalgic looking at the bridge. I
left my home of Brisbane a few years ago to move a thousand miles
away to Melbourne. I remember going for a drive around the city I'd
always lived in the night before I flew out. I was overcome with
nostalgia. Anyway, I digress... Georgia is my home-in-law. My wife's
from there and I've spent a fair bit of time there. I love the place; I
often get homesick for it. I hope you settle in quickly. All the best.

Love the energy of your playing on this one, the sense of two hands that
you create with your thumbing, and the mellow intensity (not an
oxymoron when it comes to this piece). Your use of low strings
integrates better than many of your previous attempts, altho I'd still like
more of a concerto feel at a certain point, with the strings playing a
melody at least once, to sort of give them a nod; yet they add a wonderful
depth to the sound. Great ending. This track is rich and wonderful.
There must be a story there, moving cross-country, for such a California
boy. I felt like the song was more about living in the shadow of the
Bridge, but the peaceful country Americana feel is well suited for all the
Plains between the two shining seas. Godspeed.

Moving!!
My knowledge of American geography is a bit poor, so I checked
Peachtree GA out on Google and wow, that is some move you're
making! I really hope that it works out well for you.

There's a feeling of excited anticipation about this piece (actually I'm
getting this more than nostalgia - I think this is because the piece and
your playing have so much energy). You have a great musical vision
and it's brilliantly executed here - and I rather like the string orchestral
drone thing you've got going here.

Good luck!

Great piece Bill. Agree with Ziti that it is one of your very best. Not the
hardest thing you ever played technically but one of the best because
of the great drive and spirit displayed throughout. And also because of
the beautiful acoustic guitar sound that you have recorded here and
how each string is allowed to resonate to it's fullest. Reminds me a
great deal of Leo Kotke's playing. This will be a super travel song as
you move to Georgia. Now you are going to have to learn how to talk
the same way that R.C. writes. Oh my! I have several relatives in the
Macon area so am very familiar with the state and culture. It will be a
huge adjustment coming from San Fran. The humidity and temp will
definitely be different than what you are used to.

Wonderful playing, Bill. I can hear the excitement with a hint of trepidation in this arrangement. But, hey, there's always a bit of fear of the unknown.

You keep playing guitar like this and you won't have any trouble making friends in the Hot'lanta area.

BTW. I have family in Fayetteville, which is few miles east fo Peachtree City. We'll have to get together next time I'm down that way.
