Description
A tribute to the likewise named popsong out of the 80ies (soiled with fragments of another popular 80ies song). 98% MIDI built-up. guess, a male or female singer could be nice. Still a work in progress ... annotations welcome.

I have this feeling
...that something is missing from it. I think some vocals would definately compliment this track. I really like the changes in drum/loops. Nice jam.

thanks ...
for stopping and giving annotations. Question is, if human-like or completely different vocals would make the goal?

hmmm
If you dont go with human then I would definately use robot. It does have a strong industrial feel to it and an inhuman voice would give it that extra grittyness (is that a word?) for the jam.

Dig it
Really like this and maybe some robot voice like "spitlogic" says.
But it's works like this also... Cheers
alexweiler said 3789 days ago (March 8th, 2007)
Thanks Skean
(resulting from that little misunderstanding) the robotised voice could be fine. I will give it a try ...

If it's a trubute
to Human League then you would actually need to add both a male and female robot voice!

Neat little number.

Thanks ...
so far I agree to you ... easier said than done, so if there is a female singer out there, willing to do this job I would extremely be pleased.

human/non-human
this is great, alex! i think for the lead, it would be nice to hear a lower register, heavily vocoded male vocal. it would also be nice if you could get some soft female background vox (human and human league-sounding).

best,
-=ez

Hi Ez,
thanks for stopping. I will work hard on this. I guess, my qualities on female singing are a bit underdevoloped ;-)

Yes
I definitely recognise that initial drum beat! I love the Human League.

This track has all the necessary elements for a class 80s track. All that's missing - like you said - is vocals.

Keep advertising on chat - there are people out there who would love to collab.

Nice Noises in this track
Do you have a concept for lyrics?

Concepts
I think of two ways:

1. completely different lyrics, maybe using quotations of the original text (unfortunately I have no convenient text ideas yet)
2. cover version (the original "Being Boiled" texts)

!!
this speaks to me without any vocals. i dig it.

i like how you usually work in a downtempo manner. well, downtempo in contrast with a lot of my stuff. i think we have a lot of the same ideas about synths and music, and it's nice to listen to it coming from a different ether.

Happy New Year
Thanks Helen for listening. I agree to your proposal for having a more differentiated genre range, especially for the electronical section and - why not -for genre "tribute & dediction", too.

A peaceful and Happy New Year for you, too.

Capturing
I wish I had the chance to capture the vibe back in the late 70ies; so it took some time to imitate their (pretty cool) vibes and I have to admit that I've never had half a haircut like him - especially during the 80ies.

Thanks Bryn
