Description
Occasionally... I like to break out the acoustic and write a sappy love song... This song doesn't really go with anything else that I've posted here but... What the hell.

Lyrics
Here I am...
to voice my intimate surrender.
To my love of many years...
I hope in days to come
You won't remember the tears.

It's not that I'm letting go...
But I can't wait for you to know.
While another crawls into your bed...
I hold these thoughts inside my head.
With this kiss I will resign...
My heart
My soul
My everything...
So you could try to find
True love away from me.

And I pray...
The tears that you have shed for me,
will soon evaporate.
and I know... I was just too late.
I waited too long to come to...
And now I lost my everything.

I know I let you down
As I wandered in my haste.
I know I have to try...
to let you go your way.
It seems I had to find...
My love for you in tears...
and now I realized...
You've loved me through these years.

Here I am...
to voice my intimate surrender.
To my love of many years...
I hope in days to come
You won't remember...

In time I hope to see...
the beauty that surrounded me will...
Take my hand
Take my heart
Take me in... and let start to love...
My angel that I have set free...
I was blind, but now I see.
You have always held a part of me.

I hope in days to come...

so cool
Hey, this is great. The music is just right, I have problems with OVERdoing stuff and this is just the right amount, beauty in restraint. As far as the siinging, i think youre channeling a good mix between ryan adams and early howie day, im impressed

Unexpected from you,
but cool love song James, very nice guitar sounds, and your vox works really well in this genre. Not crazy about the spoken intro, but who cares : ) Love Supply might have done this well : )

Hey! Nice voice...
...and I mean, REALLY nice voice...

I like the repeating acoustic lead line, and I like the generally bright tone of the acoustic...

This is a nicely written song. The melody and lyrics are really strong. I'm trying to place the intro... 'Phenomenon', I think...

A tiny crit is that I think, maybe because of close-mic'ing and/or compression, I think the vocal picks up a few mouth noises...

I'm impressed... nice change-up...

hmmmm... Movie-buff?
You are correct. It is Phenomenon. This song was initially a letter to a X. The "Phenomenon" reference is a "inside" thing. Thanks for your support and encouragement. It is greatly appreciated.

impressive
When you can strip it down and lay it out there completely exposed, it shows a real compfort with the craft... and this was a very enjoyable listen... really nicely performed and well sung....

I would like to read the lyric... what I heard sounded worth it... it's not your fault... I don't have the greatest ears...

I do have a small nit-pic... when we sing with our selves we are duplicateing a sonic thumbprint... so any thing we can do to separate the voices... the harmony vocal could have been panned a little off to either side... both voices seemed to occupy the same space in my stereo field... but that's easily fixed

Echoes that haunt
I love this intimate sound. Very well recorded, simply and directly written, and honestly performed. I agree with Scott about posting lyrics, and about differentiating self-same backing vocals with color, reverb, pan, a some combination (my ears wanted the backing harmony to be slightly left). The little echo is a very nice detail, both musically and thematically. Wonderful track.

Oh how nice ....
... I always love a good old acoustic love song ... and I gotta say ... that backing falsetto harmony gave me goosebumps .... your voice has that fabulous smoky tone to it that makes it perfect for this type of music. (Did I hear you take a gulp of beer somewhere in the middle there?) ... heh heh I am also a big fan of having the lyrics posted .. this way we can sing (er .. I mean read) along as we listen.
