Betweeness

Description
This is an instrumental track at the midpoint of my album "Broken Symmetries". Until now it was only available on the album but I figure, seeing as I've only sold a handful, that I might as well put at least one of the three "album only" tracks out there for people to hear. It's short and intended to be what it is.

I performed the two guitar parts and "penciled in" all the piano, strings, horns, and percussion note by note from scratch.

The image above is a photo I took a few years ago in a secluded alley passageway in Rome where someone had scrawled the word "betweeness" on the shadowy wall above a drain. I used it in the CD insert artwork.

Sounds good ..
.. on the CD, sounds good here Peter. I really hope that "more than a handful" of "Broken Symmetries" gets sold - it's a really good production with terrific songs.
Cheers from Oz,
Neil

Thanks
Thanks again, Neil. Selling music is tough with such a saturated market. Yet, a guy who writes a program for the iPhone that makes the screen go white, calling it a "flashlight" can sell thousands of copies on the Apple app store in a few days.

Need to learn to program and just embed my music in the apps. 99ยข for a fancy start button and a song. hehe

penciled in
note by note.. I know the work that this entails, and I want to tell you you sure did a great job on it! It left me wanting more. I guess I'll just have to wait until the album comes out.

Aptly titled Peter!
This is so gorgeous...so evocative. It literally made me misty eyed. Thanks so much for posting this gem of an interlude.

You rule man!

Be well!

Short and sweet
I always love to hear your stuff and this one is no exception.
It's as beautiful as it is short :)

Good work, as always.

Hmm
Not in a negative way, hmm, in a surprising a good way. With the right lyrics here (and they have to be perfected, I am sure you know), this could become huge. I enjoy the dark beginning, and the light or dark outcome.
I believe this has a lots of potentials. I can not tell what the story is about, or potentially about, but then again that's your words. It's a bit Pink Floyd'ish, which to me suggest this can turn any way. (Not suggesting this should turn into a vocal piece if that was not your intentions). Very moving, impressing guitar performance, a good take..take it further!

Thanks
Thanks, Mikki. I'm sure you're right. It could be developed a lot further. I kept it short as more of a convenience I think. I didn't have the time to do much more than that and I really wanted it on the album. But nothing says I can't eventually make a second version and developing it. You got me really thinking about it.

I would swear...
...that I've already got that photo attached to one of your previous songs, somewhere in the hard drive...

This is a neat teaser, Peter. I've still got 'Broken Symmetries' on the wishlist...

I like that it has some air, and breathes...

Really...
...great photo!

And the tune is nice as well - reminds me of those haunting instrumental segments found on The Wall. Classy sounding stuff.

Atmospheric
You can hear the attention to detail in all that you've done here and the result is a very interesting and soothing piece of music. Glad I finally caught up with it!
