Description
The idea behind the tune is that I was reading about the reboot of the Hubble telescope and the future maintenance planned for early next year, so I accessed the two main sites for the Hubble mission and one of the downloads was a file of the top 100 images taken over the last few years...... Well I was lost for words as I looked at each image in turn. They were all spectacular, so being lost for words I turned to music.....Hence......

I hope that you can find time to check out the top 100 images, in high resolution, whilst listening to this piece of music, and I hope that the experience takes you to some of the places that I visited during my imaginary trip around outer space.

The sounds were realised by a herd of Zebra from within the energyXT system, just the other side of old Father Time.

As always, let me know what you think, good or not so good.

You capture...
...the vast places of space, Paul, in sounds and combinations like no other composer. Alongside the Hubble photos (brilliant!), this makes for just the right spaciness one would imagine "in the void." I always enjoy your inventiveness.
Peace.

Hi Paul......
I've been at a loss for what to do next, and along came the details of the Hubble reboot. This sparked my imagination and all I had to do then was work out some sounds both peculiar and spectacular at the same time. I think I got the peculiar sounds OK but I'm still working on the spectacular. I need even purer synths.

The notes held by one of the synths seemed a little over the top but, all in all, I couldn't find anything else in the moment, so here it all is, as a backdrop to the greatest backdrop I know, the Cosmos (which is behind EVERYTHING), and my thoughts on how those high resolution images affected me.

As always Paul, thanks for your thoughtful comments.

Take care.

Hi Dirigent......
Thanks for listening and leaving your kind comments. It's good when someone can appreciate the music in the way I imagined it.

You should check out the top 100 images, in hires, from the Hubble web site. They are awesome.

Take care.

Hi Bryn....
I'm so glad you stopped by to listen. If you've seen any of the hires shots you'll know where I'm coming from with the music. The ending that I had originally was all dischordant, as though someone had turned up the volume on the chaos of the night that is out there, all around. I took it out as it would have been too experimental or way out. Maybe next time!!

Take care.

Paul

Another great entry...
From MJ's craziest experimenter. Love the textures and movement. Check out my latest "experimental" pieces when you get a chance - you of all people might relate.

Hi Daniel.....
I have already checked your experimental pieces out. I just haven't gotten around to leaving a comment or two. I thought they were very good.

My next piece is a Halloween piece, so very very experimental. Watch this space....... or one near to it.

The hubble images just blew me away. Who needs drugs when you see the hires shots on a big screen, eh?? I don't.

Take care.

Music for observatories.
I'm always in favor of music dedicated to space as it is and space as it's explored. This would work perfectly at a planetarium show. Deep profundity, mixed with subtle beauty. That's one way to look at space. I hope you'll do more with this theme.

Hi Roca....
I think that you may realise that I love these type of pieces. There is peace and there is movement, depending on which part you listen to. I'm working on some ideas for the really peaceful atmosphere, as this is close to my heart, but I'm sure that more of this spacey type of music will come along too.

The planetarium is a great idea for my music. Maybe a little bit less dramatic if it were for real but who knows what others would like or not.

Thanks for listening and leaving your encouraging words.

Take care.

Love that Zebra!
Great, vast synth sounds. You sure have a great way of going speechless. This would sound great in a planetarium with the pictures that inspired it!

Hi Kristyjo......
Music speaks volumes, eh?? The first rough mix, laying down the different tracks, was feeding back all the time when the bass turned up. It may have worked OK in a planetarium but my laptop speakers were vibrating too much for me to leave the piece in that state.

I searched for other, less earthy and more spacey sounds that would weave in and out of each other in prett much the way these have managed to do, I hope.

Thanks for stopping by.

Take care.

Hi........
I'm glad you heard something within the piece that you could relate to.

It's always a pleasure to have you listen to one of my uploads and to receive kind comments.

I think that part of the battle with these type of pieces is giving background and trying to paint a picture for the music to be the backdrop to.

Take care.
