Picture of Perfection

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
This was written and recorded back in 1975. It was transferred from reel-to-reel tape onto CD in 2005, the year I joined MacJams. For the reunion, I cleaned it up with SoundSoap and remixed it.

Picture of Perfection is a young man’s dream; a mental image of his dream girl; the perfect woman for him. Of course, he dreamed this long before he learned that the real worth of a woman is found in her heart

I hope you enjoy this one boy's sojourn into dreamland.

Lyrics
Picture of Perfection

The crystal lights
Of heavenly nights
Shine on your hair
Shine on your hair
The moonlit night
Seems to right
In my eyes
In my eyes

Your eyes are so blue
They sparkle in the night
In my eyes
In my eyes
Your hair is so golden
It outshines the light
In my eyes
In my eyes

Chorus

Your skin is smooth and silken
Your touch an angel’s caress
In my eyes
In my eyes
Your body is delightful
How could I ask for more
In my eyes
In my eyes

Chorus:
The picture of perfection
My goddess of love come true
You’re always in my mind’s eye
A picture of me and you

Feter
I also think that because it was recorded originally on excellent analogue tape equipment that will capture the sound more truly than electronic recording does.I am a vinylophile and proud of it. Jarvoid

It helps
It helps that the guitar was a Martin D-28. :-) Thanks for commenting Feter.

I can relate with 1975

I was writing letters to my high school sweetheart at that time; she was still a continent or so away in Brazil, I was here in Texas.

Nice post.

( : 1975 !
Wonderful hearing You again really been looking fwd to it!!! Lovely playing & singing !! I didn't recognize your vox first-very different here(soundsoap?) ! Your stillness in your singing & gutiarplaying feels perfect -: ) You got my eyes damp. .. - Music is so healing , I thk it'll be given on 'recepie' in the future(well maybe not when we're still around but ev) !! Especially like it twds the end when i thought the song would end(where You stopped singing) You continue to play & slowly evenetually finish !- thats what i call a PERFECT ending like the tidewaves...or echo... Much enjoyed .Bless You ! Like I said i've been looking fwd to hearing You again !
Courtseys !
RickW said 3108 days ago (February 12th, 2009)
different vox?
Well, yes, it is quite different from today -- I was a lot younger 34 years ago. :-)) Thank you for the curtsey and the nice words Helena.

Blast from the past
Rick, I think it's great that you saved a 34 year old song and transferred it onto CD to share with us here. Your voice is sweet, and so is your playing. The soundsoap really got out the hum from the reel to reel, too. :-)

Good

Ah yes
a Teac reel-to-reel and the D-28 Martin Dreadnought were a great combo those days. Thanks for commenting Chris.

Why Dadai.2?
Because I deleted my account in early September, then re-signed up as DustyAttic... and recently I switched the name to Dadai.2 - upgraded version ;-)

After I listened to your song, all I can say, I'm happy you returned to your initial passion and shared this beauty from the past.

It's beautiful.

What a sweet song...
I am glad I found this little gem (finally). It is so filled with the dreams of youth. Helps us all to remember fondly and to reflect on the reality of a woman's value over the span of a lifetime. It is quite amazing, too, that you were able to resurrect this from such an old recording and give it new life. Thank you for this little gift this morning.
