Description
Just another song by Knave's 13. We're a band of 14 and 15 year olds and we love playing and writing music. This one's a bit of classic rock mixed with indie dance I guess you could say.

Lyrics
I'm getting knocked out,

down and out,

But you say that's what it's all about.

I put on the mask and everybody laughs,

make a fake smile,

baby I know you do.

Anger's comin' outta my soul.

Tell me things about my goals.

But, who are you to tell me who I am,

tell me what I want,

tell me what's right for me.

Chorus:

Yet here I am waiting,

for your prayers,

Hey babe, hey babe,

have you seen my face,

it's all dressed up to please your taste.

Hey babe, hey babe,

I feel so out of place,

I'm struggling,

just to keep your pace.

Verse:

You piss me off night and day.

Not gonna share I guess I'll see you there.

I'll joke with you in the brightest day,

I'll fight with you and go away.

Anger's comin' outta my soul.

You still tell me things about my goals.

You're not gonna stop me from livin' my life,

doin' what I want, bein' who I want to be.

Chorus:

Yet here I am waiting,

for your prayers,

Hey babe, hey babe,

have you seen my face,

it's all dressed up to please your taste.

Hey babe, hey babe,
I feel so out of place,
I'm struggling,
just to keep your pace.

Hey babe, hey babe,
have you seen my face,
it's all dressed up to please your taste.

Hey babe, hey babe,
I feel so out of place,
I'm struggling,
just to keep your pace.

Great track -
Killer licks and excellent vocals. How'd you record this? All at once or in parts. Are the drums live or loops? Turn the bass up a bit more next time. Very cool.

Thanks
We recorded this live as a room take. We're gonna re-record professionally after summer though. The drums are live, but they're an electronic set. We noticed the bass got a little lost in the mix too...very hard to get those levels right, but we'll keep trying! Thanks for the crits!

Back to the basics
I remember recording songs back in my teens in a friends living room. They were nowhere near as good as this either sound quality wise or song writing wise. Even with the less-than-perfect recording conditions you can still tell you guys have a great sound. Good stuff!

Thanks
I'm surprised the recording quality comes out so well, especially since we're just using a single Samson CO1U USB Microphone.

Thanks again!

awesome
you know, with an electronic kit, you might be able to run it midi inot the audio interface, and use whatever drum tones your recording software has to offer... i would talk to someone who has more experience than me, but i am seriously thinking about doing the same thing with my drums. i use loops right now, and if i can, i am going to get an electric kit, and run it direct... if it can be done, the clean tone would be worth its wieght in gold. loved the old school synths, and the vocals, a little dry, but well sung. second song, loved it.

Thanks
That drum thing sounds like an interesting idea, but these are just recordings we're using to promote ourselves before we have enough material to record a demo professionally (enough good material I mean, we're writing a bunch of songs that are a lot better than our old stuff).

We're recording here: http://www.sweatshopstudios.com/home1.asp.
