Always a pleasure to see you here my friend. Thanks for coming and the cool comments on both of them.

cool
i was hoping you would put guitar over this (although i'll admit i was scared by the title). always love the sounds you get, and this is no exception. you really bent that loop to your will. great job.

Thanks Mike
This was the first one I started to do for this LIOLI challenge. I couldn't make up my mind on the feel or tempo of it, so I just did it all. That first part was begging for a searing guitar part, but I never could figure out what to do about the rest of it, except for short little licks, or the acoustic parts.

Glad you like the way it turned out, even if it is a little odd, shall we say. Thanks again for listening Mike. Be well and be cool,

Ed

Yeeeeah...
Yeah, there's some good playin' over the loop. All fits together perfectly. I feel like I need to hear really deep, bass vocals just reading some poetry or simply speaking thoughts. As I type this, I am even speaking in that voice and it seems like it fits to me. That's all. Doofy out.

Thanks again Sheila

trippin'
this takes me back to a smokey club around, oh, say, 1:30AM - the crowd is way mellow and all eyes are glued to your fingers on that guitar. smiles all around, diggin' the groove. it picks up, and now a few couples are up there dancin' - i knock back another shot - strange segue (was that a blackout?) - and now we're floating in a cloud o' coulda's and shoulda's - friends are saying their goodbyes, and now i'm pouring myself into the backseat of my buddy's convertible - we're heading home - radio's blaring - and i'm diggin' the stars

thanks

Cold Beer Hot Bar Hotter Guitar
The Carlos Santana comparison is dead on: you've got some delicious, slow curling rides sliding around that guitar of yours. I cant stop listening to that first part... it just hits the sweet spot dead on. I can hear the loop too, but its so artfully melded into the piece and frames that tasty guitar perfectly.

Not quite so turned on by the second part tho.... dont have the same crackling love and fire smoking off the guitars. Third part mellows out a bit but still, I keep kicking back to that smoking first part. Pure inspired genius.

That's what happens when you're a Schizophrenic
You just go where the voices lead you.

What I should have done was more of the same on the first part, but alas it didn't happen. I may revisit this one and get rid of the Country flavors in leu more Carlos.

Thanks for the listen, Mr Mo, I appreciate it, and the great comments on it.

Ed

Very well done, Ed
you sure can stroke that gitbox, though like Mr Mordenus, I much prefer the first third, not just because Carlos is so cool, but for that smokey heat.

i got no idea
of what the loop was. not that it makes any difference.

but i'm digging the bluesy approach at the beginning. i always like a turn in a song, seems like i get 2 songs for the price of one

Make that 3 turns, Vic
Thanks for checking this one out Vic, and for the cool comments. Glad you enjoyed at least part of the song.

What's that old saying, "You can please some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time."

I have no idea why I broke that song up that way, but I guess I must have thought it was a good idea, at the time.

Be well and be cool my friend,

Part 3 is my fave
It's SOOOO far from dance floor music that all I can think when I hear this strange medley is "How far we've come in such a short while'.
You have a real command of a lot of different styles, Ed, and it's always a pleasant surprise to hear what's going on over on your page.
I enjoyed this one.

Well thank you Jim
It's funny how some folks like the beginning and other like the end part. Different stroke and all that. I will say, it's pretty hard to imaging that loop being used in a Southern Rock ballad, but somehow it just seemed to fit.

Thanks for listening Jim and the kind words, it is appreciated. Glad you enjoyed the music my friend.

Be well and be cool.

a slow dance
to live life. to dance. to do this slowly, it is the best. such skill in playing of guitar. i like the sloparts. it is three pieces of music in one. it dazzles, like the eyes of the dance partner. thank you. 0x0
