Description
Well as the song title suggest, I have been away. On vacation I hasten to add. I visited Berlin for a few days. This song was going to be my LIOLI entry but I missed the deadline with my wanderings around the globe. So I thought I would have a go at finishing it and it became a phrenetic monster of mixiness. Absorbing a little of Germany along the way, along with the bustle of modern travel and the whirlwind of a busy city.
It is not perfect, all the chopping and changing has lead to some unexpected artefacts and I struggled with the mix (any hints would be appreciated, I tried to master it with Logic, it sounded rubbish). But here it is for your delectation. Hope you like it.
Martin.

A nice track
even if the loop possibly is a bit too obvious, at least for those of us that participated in the challange... I like the change at 1.30, though, and would actually have been quite happy if the song had started at that point. I can hear a bit of German influence in that second half of the piece!

I have been to Berlin myself, but that was in 1978 on a concert "tour" with the Renaissance ensamble I played in :-) Take care.

Thank you. It was going to be my loop loo challenge entry but Berlin intervened. Too much work to throw away though. You should try to get to Berlin now, you would not recognise the place.

Nice sounds
Esp like the break in the middle of the track. Germany seems to have inspired this electro dance track. Its like an upbeat Kraftwerk track. Cool work Martin.
P.s. Cool picture as well.

Welcome to the challenge. Yes, by now that loop is stuck forever in our minds (lol). I have been to Germany a few times, but always in the north (Bremen, Willemshaven). Never seemed to see the sites anywhere else as it was all business. I'll tell you one thing though. I had the greatest beer and seafood on the North Sea.

Thanks for dropping by. My son lives in Berlin with his family so we try to visit once a year. It is such a evolving, happening city. I recommend it, if you ever get a chance.

Very Slick
Reminds me of Voyage, European outfit from 70s. Very cool stuff. I partially agree that the change at 1:30 is an excellent twist, but starting the piece there might take away the drama of the changeover. You do nifty things with the loop, friend. Demented and crazy, genius things.

Superb entry.

You are most kind. I did try to inject a bit of franetic essence to the mix, Berlin is a very crazy place, I fell very at home there.

Mr Moroder!
Could almost hear Phil Oakey singing something over this! Like someone else said , for me it could have started around 1.30 as that seemed a bit mysterious and a less obvious way to introduce the song. Interesting though. Cheers Mark.

Has an ambient quality to it
Especially the bits after 1:30 which are almost meditative. I like how you changed the chord in the second part from time to time to renew interest. Some parts sound a little like Kraftwerk at times - maybe influenced by your travels?

Nice tune that moves well.
