Satie's Gnossienne #2

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
Erik Satie's Gnossienne #2 was composed in 1890. It contains many of those chromatic-3rd harmonic relationships Satie is so known for. For example, listen to the movement from G minor to E minor in the very first phrase. Other such progressions to listen for A major to F# major (near the middle) and A major to C major (near the end).

Pianist George Peter Tingley performs Erik Satie's Second Gnossienne (1890).

Roland plus software
C-

I play the Roland KR-7 Digitally Intelligent Piano and use Native Insturments' Akoustik Piano samples -
in the case of the recording above those of a Steinway D Concert Grand. I do wish I had an acoustic grand at home but just don't.

The Velvet Gentleman
Satie was brilliant and eccentric, and it is wonderful to see that his music has become so popular. Played beautifully and with great sensitivity.
