enjoyed it from the off
Lovely clean and listenable sound. Shades of some of Badfinger's album tracks. The harmonies are excellent which makes me think you could maybe double up on them in places.Nevertheless it's just great as it stands.

Nice and clean
with good production.... love the instruments and the vocals, but for me maybe up the vocals a tad; only because the Mandolin is so sparkly and bright in comparison.... otherwise a really nice song, well performed, regards M

Great job
Liked it a lot. Would improve the vocals on the mixing end, the artistry is excellent but I think either your vocal mic is not up to par or your mix is off. Are you recording at 192 KHz? Real punchy instrumentals, are you going direct and maybe miced up on vocals? Again, great job, impressive as hell!
Cheers

Pete and Damien
Totally pro. The only suggestion I have is that after the build-up in the beginning I think it needs an acoustic bass or something to build up the bottom end. Most of the quieter passages would not need it but when the drums are playing it would just fill out the palette of sound and balance things out.
You guys are really talented, a real joy to listen to,
Stephen

Now this is how it is done!
Crystal clear picking and recording give this a lift from the first notes. It's practically a textbook on how to do a good acoustic tune. Good painting job on the lyrics. Feels windy, a little bite to the air as you say (or the narrator says) goodbye to the past. I wouldn't mind a little fattening-up in the low/mid EQ range on the acoustic guitar. But your mix has a great balance, and again, that crisp, clear sound. Kudos on the subtle presence of that ambient, backing string wash, too. A real jewel of a tune.

So Clean
Hi Guus. we play as an acoustic duo as well but are way behind you when it comes to recording expertise. Wish I could get some of our songs to sound as clean as this as guitar, mandolin and mandola are our main instruments. If you are playing any gigs in the city let me know, it would be good to come down and meet another Macjammer. Cheers Mark

nights
hi guys. another lovely piece. but i have question; which part of the creative process do you think about vocals? i reckon you sort all the music out, work out all the intricate string harmony, (which you do so well - and i am already being influenced by you)....and then you do the vocals. am i talking out my arse?
