walk it now
Cool groove and ditto hook line in that guitar that comes in with "Walk it now". To sing/rap in time with the rhythm is pretty challenging, and you pull it of seamlessly here.
The horns are right on, and suits the mood good. This one builds very fine. I dig the bridge that opens up the song, and totally dig your cool guitar playing.

Walk It Now
Very cool song - don't know if I would classify this as hip hop though. Still has all the elements of a good rock tune - especially in today's homogenized music market. Throwing in horns makes it all the more interesting, also like the chick "oohs" near the end. Definitely a breakout song for you but it's still rock!!

I enjoyed the listen - thanks for sharing.

Very cool John
I love how you move into areas outside your comfort zone and do it so effectively. Top recording, singing and instrumentation - production very clean. This moves and has serious attitude.
Excellent post!

Blues for the hip hop generation....
Nice how the very disparate elements all work together.... The distorted harmonica, the VERY deep bass, the acoustic lines, the distorted guitar...

On top of that, it's a good, solid song... Oughta be a hit for SOMEONE.... Love the lead break where the guitar gets all sweet and reverby...

That amazing bass sets the
initial feel here and is wonderously relentless. This is a truly great track - special - love it and all the detours it takes along the way. This is a definite download for me. Thanks.

Once that great bass line got under my skin
I just couldn't turn away. This is really well done man.

Is that an actual guitar or a keyboard sim? Love that riff!

Be well!

You kicked ass 16 years ago, too.
I hear the Cake in here. But I just like what you're doing here. Great mix, it's very alive. I especially like the right-channel guitar, fits in well but pops out just enough for us guitar-heads to enjoy. Serious attitude you've got here. Works well. Killer arrangement, keys, that reverb guitar break, etc., etc.
