Description
I think Floyd Cramer is cool and Tekla Badarzewska is hot.

Ok, to save people the trip to wikipeda: Floyd Cramer was the Nashvillle studio pianist who played on such hits as Patsy Cline's "Crazy". I wanted to make a piece of music in his spirit, but it turned into a bit of a romantic piece, like the miniatures of Tekla Badarzewska.

Your playing is good here, but what stands out for me are the chord progressions in the first section of the song. Some tasty choices here.

oh, this works...
Vic, you've succeeded. This images the mood and lyrical feel of "Crazy" (sung by Patsy, composed by Willie). Funny, looking at your picture above... I always thought you were a guy ;-)

This would fit perfectly in a radio rotation in the fifties, heck-today! Good one.

Not quite like Cramer (style wise) but a style of your own no doubt. I like it a lot! and yes, Tekla Badarzewska is hot!

Yeah, I refuse to do those little rolls that Cramer does. It would be too obvious who I was ripping off.

is famous for one piece "A maiden's prayer". It's been called all sort of names, few of them flattering.

You got me
I had to Google both names .

I have no idea if you managed to achieve what you set out to do but I did mange to listen to some Tekla Badarzewska and this gets near to that.

Cheers

Always an Educational Adventure
I do hear a little of the "Morricone" influence mentioned above (with the choir and a few notes here and there), but then I like that music too. This is really sweet, in a good way, very warm and comforting, I like it! Sometimes you just need some good musical "chicken soup." I admit that the metronome-like hi-hat hits during the chorus (starting at 1:09) seemed a little distracting, but otherwise, everything flowed gorgeously. Nice orchestration.

Metronome
Thanks for pointing out the drums. They will need some work. It's _hard_ to get that 1960s sound where everything blends nicely together. Mixes these days are too clean. I'll need to listen more to Patsy Cline to see what the drum is supposed to sound like.

Thanks for the compliments.

Floyd Cramer
Now that takes me back. I was going to ask about the rolls, but I see you've already answered that one:) Very nicely done as an hommage - it really reminds me of what I heard on my parent's favourite easy listening radio station. You've captured the feel well (channelling??).

Thanks for reminding us of this artist.

Cheers,
Doug

Dulcet sound
Piano is behind. It should be leading and more certain. Havins said that, I admit that I could not play this piece on piano. I'd love to try out the chord progressions on guitar. This is such beautiful melody. Begs for lyrics and a dulcet voice.
