Description
Thought I’d put up a brace of songs this time. WIAGY, (Walking in a grave yard) was a song written by Steve that I wrote a tune for. I then took it over to a friend who had Ableton Live and he provided drum loops and live bass and lead. A much fuller sound than we can usually create. Now if you have a listen to WIAGY acoustic you can here what Steve and I did to it. “Compare and contrast” as they used to say in English exam papers!!

Lyrics
WIAGY

Look out to the sea
Look beyond the shore
That’s where the answer will be
No searching anymore

You ever wonder why
The dark arrives so quick
No stars in the Sky
Dense black so thick

The hairs on your neck
Seem to come alive
Fear seems to stack up
Away with the night

Your Walking in a graveyard
Alone with your thoughts
You’re walking in a graveyard
You don’t want to get caught

Mind plays those games
You know they really can’t hurt
By day it’s not the same
As being alone at night

Walking with the shadows
Feel the steely breath
Of the newly found neighbours
Who wear the veil of death

sweet
has a real CSN flavor. i like the "walking in a graveyard" metaphor, reminded me of that old saw "someone walked on your grave". Also really like how the shambling, acoustic groove lifts this out of the subject matter just enough that you're tempted to sing along to a graveyard song.

fingerpicking and drum loops
in a graveyard--dare I say a happy combination! now I'm off to hear the "acoustic" version.

Very nice
but I have to say that I prefer the acoustic version...it may be the spontaneity and live sound ...this is a good studio cut the other is the live album ...that's it......and why,in the name of Robin's trousers would you want to be walking in a graveyard ?

Very cool song
Lyric really makes your imagination run with it. Beautiful and scary at the same time. Welcome.

Mark and Steve
love the acoustic, like the changes. think some cool harmonies would have elevated the song at the chorus... no criticism on that though as it stands alone nicely without. The tone of the electric seems to fit. The bass was good too.
