Lyrics
Demoralized, must break these chains,
bite the hand that feeds the drain.
Let it rain, let it wash our stains.
Find the Healer who will fix our pain.

Suddenly, like a twilight arrow,
souls are bathed, warmed to the marrow.
Silent pleasures, with our Lord.
Wholesome treasures for this accord.

When sad and spent, so tired and bent,
when in the clutch of vanities,
join the ranks of the penitent,
rise to heaven on winged knees.

Captives ransomed, freed by His blood.
Now adapted to this celestial flood.
Silent pleasures, we’re with our Lord.
Wholesome treasures for this accord.

Freedom!
Jesus sets the captives free. The sound track is energetic and unique. It has a timeless quality. You sing with strength and passion. Kudos to you both!

Freedom!
Phat Tuesday is come and gone. The song says what I want it to say on Ash Wednesday (today). Too bad I couldn't come up with a consistent rhyme scheme.

Cool
Thanks, Micheal. Yes, David's tracks are powerful! They make me sing stuff I otherwise wouldn't.

Wowsa
Quite refreshing to hear such a take on inspirational music. There are too many tinkly pianos and sappy strings around (like in my song that you commented on :-) I like this approach much better. A very strong song.

for each song, its own landscape
The instrumental soundbed by Gomez (magullo) just happened to pull out these lyrics on a given day about 4 years ago. It could have gone another way. It was very difficult to sing to because of the half-step chord changes. So I rode a root or tonic, for the most part. I need to revisit this with singing that is not so strained and overdriven.

That song of yours which you refer to is just fine. Let's do a collab on it!
