Only Warm Place

Description
Time for a new song and I went solo for this one! Gran’s old upright piano sits in the corner of the room where I record and I started to knock out a few chords on it with some words I had going around my head. I am no piano player, (as you can tell!) but this one developed over an afternoon and I borrowed my son’s Spanish guitar to add a few bits. There are no loops in this one and it’s all “hand made” so I know there a few timing issues but hey! Incident was from 1983 song from 2008. Cheers Mark

Lyrics
Only Warm Place

Standing at the end of the pier
Staring on a winters day
The sea rolls in and catches the rain
The sky is cold and grey

Just one man with rod and line
The fish are not biting today
The only warm place is my heart
The only warm place is my heart

Feeling one step removed
From all the passions in the world
The only warm place is my heart
The only warm place is my heart

Time to get back to peace of mind
Time to get back my warmer climbs
Turn my back on the rain and cold
Put the kettle on and head down a road
Hands round the coffee cup
Hoping to change my luck

The only warm place is my heart
The only warm place is my heart

The simplicity is really nice here
Though I challenge your "no loops" assertion: is that a real seagull? (I ask because I have a soft spot for the Seagull loop in Logic 8:)) The song has a great hook (not to indulge in fishing puns, I really like the "only warm place is my heart line.)
