Description
I seem to have little time for recording of late... so here is another remix of a song; this one from 2004 and has not been here at MacJams for a while. This song was a special one for me because Bill Furner (thetiler) joined in and added some cool acoustic "psychedelic" slide parts. I could listen to that guy play guitar all day long. Thanks again Bill.

Needless to say, another song dear to my heart...

Lyrics
Don't Let It Slip Away

And when she left that day
You thought that she was gone.
There'd be some other lucky guy.
What did you say?
What didn't you do?
Was this to be goodbye?

And so you run
To tell how you feel,
How much she really means to you.
Something inside of you says,
Don't let it go.
Don't let it slip away.

And as she's walking,
She's wondering what now?
Will he just be on his way?
Sometimes love's so...
Very hard to bear.
But losing him can't be the way.

So she turns
And heads back to his door.
Maybe there's another way.
Something inside of her says
Don't let it go.
Don't let it slip away.

Refrain:
Don't let it go.
Don't let is slip away.
Don't let it go.
Don't let it slip away.

So what of love,
Is it a gift for free?
Just for a time, then on its way?
A love to hold is worth
A precious price,
Now and forever and a day.

And these two hearts,
That yeild will find a way
To build a love that is real.
Just reach out,
Don't let it go.
Don't let it slip away

Refrain

This reminds me...
of Peter & Gordon or Chad & Jeremy, which is good. Nice, dreamy harmony, and guitar additions by thetiler to enhance the mood.

Well, there you go...
I hadn't connected this song to Peter & Gordon, nor Chad & Jeremy... then again, I hadn't connected this song to any artist or band from the past. I hear what you're getting at Roxanne. And yours is a high compliment indeed. Thanks... and... thanks.

Nice
The elements here seem to be a 60's vibe with a modern touch. Oh yea...loving the slide, great job indeed. I really enjoy the peacefulness created here, and the musicianship is top notch!!
Excellent work!!
Loved every note!

Scott...
You hit it... a sixties vibe. My decade (with the modern update of course). Indeed, Bill does a wonderful slide on guitar. If you're not familiar with his music, check it out... artist - thetiler .

Really glad to have you jump in and give me a thumbs up. Thanks.

Mate in America
Jack, I remember this song! One of your best. Love that slide guitar part by Tiler.

Yes, I'm in the same boat...just remixing old tracks. We used to be quite prolific. Never did have time for any of this music stuff. But we just did it, by necessity. Some mates barely understand.

choices... choices....
Funny, I have a number of song sketches and even songs ready to record. Somehow the time or impetus to work on them is lacking. Other priorities, as you know. Thanks Rich.

Jack...
I love your voice...and Bill's guitar work is very complimentary to this piece...adds a nice flavor to it

and yes, you still sound like Justin Hayward from the Moody Blues

I like this!!!

Nice to have you chime in with your comments. Bill caught the vibe of this song with his inspire soloing. He's great. As for my vocal... I love it when Hayward's name comes up. He's got a cool singing voice, so I'm flattered. Thanks.

Thanks
I enjoy this and it sounds as real as it did when you first displayed this.

Love the Telestar rhythm feel. Which I always adored It also has a feel of Peter and Gordon which I adore ! Not commenting on me at all, your singing and your music is really catchy to my ears! Love how you bring in the singing with the pronounced chords.

Love the Moody Blues influence at the end with a night in white satin dreamy synth.

Thanks so much for sharing this again and reminiscing Jack !

Hey Bill...
and your guitar playing sounds as fresh as that day you sent it to me. Peter and Gordon... Roxylee heard them in this song also. Amazing. I can accept that, easily.

This song received a lot more effort and thought than my usual recordings. The beginning part leading into the pronounced chords as the singing started is one example. That idea came near the end of the process.

Thanks again for joining in with me on this. It's really an honor to have done a song or two with you.

Oh Yeah!
The slide parts on the acoustic are really sweet! Putting slide on my acoustic is hard because the strings want to deaden so fast.

The verses that precede the refrains are killer- easily my favorite parts of the song. The lead part at the very end of the song is really good.

Your favorite parts...

are my favorites parts also. And Bill is killer on that ending solo.

Thanks for listening Eddie!
