Sweet melodies
Nice piece. I would put some reverb on the backing dulcimer (and maybe make it slightly less bright) to push it further to the background.

Thanks for the suggestion...
...but I already tried reverb and got distortion. *shudder*

Maybe next time I should record the dulcimer at a lower level so that doesn't happen.

Fussy dulcimers. *tongue*

Reverb: be subtle
also put an EQ on the reverb; you don't need low frequencies in the reverb signal.
