A pathetically true story about a little bee.

Lyrics
I decided to sit out on such a summer's day to play guitar and drink some fizzy beer. And then, ascending from a shrub, a red and yellow beast zones into my fear.
It's a killer bee of African pedigree. A killer bee. And it's after me.
I jump six feet from my chair and batter it with my strat but I'm just making it insane. So, I decide to run but it stays just to my left 'til my lungs begin to pain.

Am I First
Man you have an incredibly original style. And your production value is constantly growing. This tune rocks in such a fun way. I love the subtle harmony in the chorus. I love the guitar lines filling in around the grinding bass. A little short, but that just left me wanting more.

Wow!
I thought this started out strangely but it picked up in tempo, musicality, and interest. Cool song. So this is the kind of thing they sing about in Japan?

a little bit of john lydon in the chorus
love the 'batter it with my strat/but i'm just ma-kin-it-in-sane' line. rhyming and phrasing great, both. also like the little 3 note lead at the end. your tunes are consistently engaging man, each in a slightly different way - i like how you obviously push yourself to be interesting. thanks for the DL...

Love it
A killer song in the key of bee (pause for laughter). It's almost frustrating how you make great pop songs out of the most random things. I made a cd of your tunes and gave them to a couple of friends. They reference it all the time. You're a star, brother.

Poor Strat!
My second crazy listen in 10 minutes! Relentlessly pursuing bees are not my favourite people. This sounds like it started out as a germ of an idea - and it has filled out rather nicely. Great production, vocals, playing and concept.
Cheers from Oz,
N

Ste,
you always come up with oh so original sounds and subjects, though this does have a kind of more organised punk-ish sort of sound. I used to be like that with bees and wasps, but now I just cover 'em with a paper cup or something, cheers M

Oh,
It is not a pathetic story. Did the "killah bee" survive the escapade, intact? I'm guessing it was just really was interested in your bee-utiful strumming, as it might have sounded like its paramour. Mundane things spark your creativity and your ample gifts make everything you do sound special. :)

I
Uncovered a wasp nest in my garden last year while cutting down a bush. They tried to kill me for it. I ran back into the house like a small child.
So I took that sucker down with a hose pipe aimed out if a slightly open window. Ted 1 - wasps 0. A week later my house got infested with rats. Natures revenge. That was a bad year as my house also started subsiding. Your song is bringing back painful memories but I still love the pinkness of it. Great lyrics and dead catchy.

GREAT! But did the Strat did it survive?
At least the red and yellow beast didn't "zoom into your ear," as I thought you sang until I checked the lyrics. Now THAT would be a true story that sucked. The story is great just as it is. I "effing" love the prose and pacing. Tight arrangement, the guitars, leads... Tempie's right on in his comments above. Sizzles. No sense of being derivative, just unique.

Fun punking
I can imagine this actually happening, or definitely making a fun action packed video. A little slice of life moment, metaphorical and humorous. I dig the bass sound, the 16th note drive. And the lmid-tone guitar continuum has a an almost laughing quality. A perfect setting for the style of punk pop. I dug the short song description too. Isn't it great to share your pain and make people smile? Nice.
