Description
Some people think that 60 or so tracks is a lot. I give you 69some: 10 guitars, 10 keyboards, 10 synths, a few basses, some drums and percussion, and one symphony orchestra. All in a tasty disco biscuit.

Oh yes,
Indeed, very tasty. Much more than disco, though.
It is jazzy and bluesy and ambient, in spots.
dijablambient? I love this. How are you going to improve on perfection? :)

Smooth
Love the piano with the lush string pad over the top. Great percussion tracks. Nice melodies and textures uncluttered by needless high-velocity riffing. Nice synth solo. Love the pitch bends. Nice piano solo. Interesting change at 5:42 to the orchestral stuff. Could have stood on it's own as a separate post. Oh......and love the girl.

A multi-track monster!
All this needs is a very cool disco vocal - Barry White maybe - to round this out
I like this a lot Vic - you've got the big sounds with all the tracks, but nowhere is there any overload, just a very smooth tune.
I bet Maurice would love to sing to this!!!!

Vic
I like it. Nice how it builds slowly until a massive change seems to reset almost everything to start again.
I would love to hear your flute in one of these ambient pieces.
Enjoyed.

Very cool soul
groove on this one. Doesnt sound anywhere near 60 tracks, which is testament to your subtle arrangment and mix. I appreciate the buildup you did in this song, filtering instruments in as you went along. Very cool work here, enjoyed it.

Upon a couple more listens
I sensed something seemed a bit off and i think I know what it is (at least to my ear). I think there needs to be more low frequency sound. Especially as the song progresses and you get more and more midrange and upper midrange frequencies, the balance of sound seems to be off to me. Maybe turn the bass up a bit and change the sound to something with a bit more bottom?

I see your point
I have consciously scaled back the loudness of the bass guitars, because low frequencies take up a lot of energy. It would not be possible to have 10 different guitar parts audible over a bass that is appreciably louder. Still, I'll tinker a bit with EQ'ing and see if I can restore some of the low-mid.

I could not do 60 tracks on my imac lest it would explode! Very cohesive tune. Nice groove, and tons of cool things going on all over the place. Your production is very crisp. Enjoyed the listen, Vic - thanks!

Classy!
Love this seductive classy sound... 'Sophisticated Disco' I call it. Love the sultry strings and the introductions of guitar and bass and other parts. I can see what so many tracks can do, though in my puny GB I get warnings when I've only got eight tracks running. This is very soothing to listen to I must say, regards M

sophisticated
My taste in disco has always leaned towards the Philadelphia kind: basically well arranged soul music (Gamble & Huff) with a solid beat under it. I'm sure that comes through in this track.

Thanks!

you winsome...
Very groovy... nice slow build, and smooth, relaxing, appealing listen. There's not much movement off the repeated chord progression, except for the switch to the orchestral section (reminds me a bit of a certain simplistic musician I know here, are you poking fun at me? smirk.) The mix is stunning, crystal clear. Great way to open up space for each instrument, and use gentle panning, etc. Much better than mine or Charles'.

tasty disco biscuit
indeed - I don't really like most disco, but as someone else said, this is much more than that. Fine work for an easy listen. A wonder how you kept it all so clean

I'd say more of a jazz/pop fusion, don't hear much disco in it. Like the chord progression and bass line. Nice changeup at 5:50. Good complementary sound choices, and all the tracks means a lot of variety for the ear. Ended a little abruptly for me. Great cover art

is there anything
you are not good at? You're one of those guys aren't you? These posts boggle my mind, i get bored recording after 4 or 5 tracks and don't have the brain to go much further, but when I hear this, well I just am in awe at your imagination and tenacity to put soooo much work into a piece of art like this! Bravo!

super
the build and composition are great. i also like the variety of instruments that you used. i doubt if i would classify this as disco though, does have a style in it's own right.

What program
are you using?...it's no frigging wonder that you always moan about my production values...this tune is awesome but so is the screenshot....my old cubase has a picture of a roman inscribing the notes onto a slate !

More jazzrock than disco I think ,but then you guys say tomatoe and ....oh apparently according to this so do I.....ah well.

Oh ,like the 'Beatlesesque' bit at about 5.40.when it changes tempo and a bit of an orchestral fanfare.

Logic
I'm running the previous version of Logic on a 6-year old PowerPC. It's constantly at the edge of overloading, and here I'm freezing half of the tracks out of necessity.

Tomato, tomahto.... I don't find disco an ugly word, and this tune is directly inspired by some of the more orchestral disco tracks that I know.

Thanks for the compliments.

Wow!
I've come close to 60 tracks, but never quite made it. But no matter how many tracks you used, the result is impressive. Such an easy, breezy groove. I can definitely imagine chilling out to this one while taking a break from burning up the light up dance floor under the mirrored ball.

Just...WOW...
I could never keep all of that stuff organized. Very cool groove...When the orchestra comes in around 5:50, it is quite a surprise, but a nice one...and then the segue to include everybody is just, well, cool. I can imagine a long and sensual dance to this number.

"Lush"
or "Romantic Disco" is my favorite kind. Sometimes I go on Barry White - Chic - O'Jays jags for weeks at a time. This could be the biggest build up ever recorded: I keep waiting for the Love Unlimited explosion, but it never arrives.... That Middle Eastern sounding riff (2:06) is a pretty funny addition, but it works just fine. Love the clavs on the outro.
