Late Night Sax*

Description
Another remix... this one from one of MacJams festivals... the Woodstock MJ Festival. I don't pick my horn enough and play it. So many things to do, so little time it seems. This is a something that I put together one evening from March 2008.

Original song info:

Fictitious scenario: Well, working backstage here at the festival has its advantages... Sly & The Family Stone had just finished the last set of the late night. As they were getting ready to pack up, I asked Jerry Martini, their tenor sax player, if I could give his horn a try... it seemed that the crowd needed a goodnight instrumental to fall asleep to as the dawn was coming soon. A couple of the other band members volunteered to back me. Nice of them, eh?

Tenor sax & guitar: Jack Miller

Photo is Jerry Martini of the Family Stone playing tenor sax at Woodstock.

I had no idea such soulful sax playing was in your tool belt. Smooth playing and tone. Love how you focus on melody over flash.

Somehow, Jack, I missed this one,
and I was there. Must have crash with some flower child before you got up and started playing. I don't even remember most of Sly's show come to think of it.

Great piece jack.( your playing, and the flower child ) Should drag out the Sax more often my friend, it sounds very good.

Peace Brother

Great to Hear You Again
Hey, guy, cool to hear your jams after all this time. Dunno if I can help much, tho. Guitar guys always have a case on the sax guys because they get all the chicks. You're sounding too too smooth on this one. The guitar guy doesn't have a chance with the girls in this set. Good luck, bro!

Nice 'n Cool

Good idea to post it! It has a very cool and sixtiesish sentiment besides being very listenable, nice and cool .. I am adding it to my iTunes library .. and when it will appear in a couple of months or so i am gonna say "wow, what is this, this is so cool" and then I am gonna have a look and find it is one of your creations. Then the next time it appears, in a couple more months or so, I'm gonna say "wow, this is cool, what is it .. ah yes, i remember .. it is Jack playing sax on Woodstock.."
