All Alone/Not Alone
I like how the song tells a story. Vocs/harmonies are fine, and I like the guitar lines. To my ears the vocs are up a db or 2 too much, and the picked guitar on the right channel is down a little. Maybe some compression on the vocs?

I didnt....
Spend much time mixing. I never do. I don't care as much in the production area. I know I should. But I agree with what you are saying. Plus I left a few mistakes in. Timing and notes! Thanks for the ear!

I agree with Vic
This certainly reminds me of Tom Petty. Good song, I'd like to hear this one live sometime.

Nifty
Good song, good arrangement, and all. But you need to work out a couple of details. In the first measures one of the guitars plays a bit off beat, which made me at first think it was a shuffle rhythm. Those bass notes at 0;24 and 0:32 need to be a bit more assertive; they're almost like mistakes. And a few more things like that. Take a critical listen.

you found
Yes you found a few of the areas that needed retakes but I was in a hurry again. haha Also some bass licks are off in a couple of spots and I sing sharp sometimes on my vocals. But thanks for the listen and comments. They do indeed help.

I heard some Tom Petty
descriptions but to me this almost has an old school Everly Brother's kind of vibe with a modern spin. Strange because I commented earlier that someone had an Everly Brothers vibratto to his voice. Anyway, I like the vibe of this piece, melding a lot of different sounds together. Cool break in the middle, allowing the song to break down a bit. The thing I would suggest is to change some of the lyrics up. I think the "Not Alone" is repeated too much. It is a good hook but I think it could use a bit more lyrical variation. Cool tune man, this one has huge potential. Keep workin it!

That's such
a great idea to introduce other friends to MJ via your music. This sounds so cool and I can't get away from 'The Searchers' in the 60's with this one especially on the chorus, chords etc..... very pleasant listen, Steve, regards M

I LOVE THIS
I hope you dont mind me saying but this sounds like the Smiths only with more thought. I love the simple aprigated guitars contrasted by the regga distorted while always having thea 80's baskbeat I LOVE IT

All Alone/Not Alone / full vocal
Great chorus! You have there the most important thing! A good hook. Cool roots rock vibe with some nice nods to 50's vocal arrangement. Nice clean mix.

The Vocals!
nice harmonies guys... very retro in the best of ways. Shadows of Peter and Gordon, Chad and Jeremy... and of course the Fab 4. Oh, how we miss really good vocal harmony songs by guys!

This is a cool song, great live feel... with excellent guitars, drums... all.

Kudos and give us another.

I saw your comment...
about your song in the Chat. You wrote, "a bit raw"...

Me: which is part of why it works. This is a song that shouldn't be too polished... might drain it of the vibrancy and fun.

cheers...

Really like ....
the vocals and guitar in the right hand speaker. The keys also work for me. A bit of a moment or two of uncertainty about the beat as Vic D mentioned. The harmonies work really well, and the song itself has a Petty feel.
I like it.

I really dig this
Some very cool phrasing love the way it stops then starts up classic chord changes! There are some parts that a bit muddled but besides that this is a hit1 very cool break before the end!

Musichead, musical mind.
I'm only a couple seasons late... From your latest romp to "Unity For Me" to this, you've got great range in your rock-pop head. You got ya a well-focused approach to arranging, which includes musical and lyrical hooks, even before the mixing. I've missed too many of your tunes. If I can find time I'll hear more of your stuff I've missed. (If you're ever in Chicago look me up.)

wow
Wow thanks Bob. Yeah sure I get up to Chicago now and then. But Thanks for listening to my tunes. These are about 1/2 of what I have on this site. And I have even more in my head still. My lyrics for the most part are made up as I work on melody so they dont have much meaning. Ha! What part of chicago are you from?

North Side.
Steve, better rsvp late than never, I hope... In case I didn't send you a PM "backstage," I'll answer here: I'm on the North side, near the Ravenswood Manor area, at least through 2011 the way things look.
