Description
I wrote this song last year (under the working title "crash"), but couldn't find the right lyrics. I heard something that Gaylen Sharp had done and thought he had just the right voice for it. He wrote the lyrics and did the vocal performance. He has, in my opinion, a really unique, blues/rock voice. I really like the energy he brought to this tune.

Lyrics
youre all kinds of fine
and girl you mess with minds
we all know your a whore
thats why we come back for more
and Im back for more
im burried in the hole i dug for you
married to the dirt that fills you up
its not the way I wanted things to end
I tried so hard just to pretend
but you never really loved this man
you gave your word and your command
now that you know youre going no where
its time for the world to see you as you are
nobodys gonna miss your face when your down there
they wont miss a single beat from that tiny heart
im burried in the hole i dug for you
married to the dirt that fills you up
its not the way I wanted things to end
I tried so hard just to pretend
but you never really loved this man
you gave your word and your command
I tear up I tear up and I tare open
something has just got to stop
I beg you please to get this over
untill you throw the dirt overtop
im burried in the hole i dug for you
married to the dirt that fills you up

Very distinctive
piece of music. You're right about the unique character of Gaylen's vocals (which I really dig), but IMHO it's the combination with the splendid soundbed you created that makes the song so great. Only one little nit: the song starts off a little abrupt (perhaps a short drum intro could help?). But that's just a one man's opinion... Splendid track.

They are up now. Thanks for the comments. I know what you mean about the intro. Earlier versions of this song had a bar of percussion intro, but so many of my songs start off that way. I thought I'd mix it up a bit.

Excellent rocking tune. I like the fuzzy guitar tones. Very Jimi. And you can't go wrong with Gaylen on a track.

It was one of your collabs with Gaylen that inspired me to do this. He really makes this track.

My studio
Functional, yes. Photo-worthy, no. I'd need to invest some clean up time before taking a picture. It is the one room in my house that my wife won't enter. She is allergic to cables and I have about 100 of them sprinkled liberally throughout the studio ;)

Yeah the beginning starts abruptly, but that's actually cool! The track is really great, and once Gaylen starts singing, it really kicks! Awesome lyrics too...Terrific work guys!

Gaylen's voice
I'm a fan. First time I heard it I had a couple of projects I'd been thinking about that I thought would fit him really well. This is the first. I gave him another one which he is working on now. I have one or two others ready to go if/when he has time.

Buried in sound
What an arrangement. Yow. Great tune, Steve. Yep, it's got your signature sound. Great collab gents. I actually like the Go! beginning. Don't hear that too often. We've been trained to ease in. I particularly liked the lead guitar sounds providing the background structure. Drums sounding good, too. Interesting lyrics, and another high-energy vocal performance from the G-man.

Go!
Gaylen brought such tremendous energy to this track that it seemed fitting to just jump right into it, full steam. It is kind of a short tune. Not much room for dynamics. Glad you mentioned the drums. I had a hard time finding the right balance for them in the mix. They still seem a little buried...

Wonderful original
sound combination and Gaylen's voice is spot on for this... love the harmonizing guitar sounds.... I think Gaylen did well too with those lyrics in this unconventional style. Excellent work, regards M

naughty guitars
I'm not the biggest prog fan, but can anyhow appreciate to listen and enjoy good musical performances. And here they come in tons:)

That guitar sound is pretty naughty and sizzling hot. Your singing sounds very dedicated and like you really dig into the feel of the song and lyrics.

I like the rhythm that the deeper sounds (bass or chello?) do. It makes a hip groove in companionship with the drums.

Very cool jazz inflected blues/rock backer.
This is a great line: "im burried in the hole i dug for you married to the dirt that fills you up". Gaylen brought it on the vocals as usual.

Two of a Kind
Composition and lyrics are wed just right! That long angular phrase is majestic as well as edgy, I like the counter rhythm that is created by the bass technique on here.
Great job fellas, thanks for sharing you r work here...

the
vocals are great, and quite patton-esque. Personally, I think this could benefit from a different mix, though, since the writing and playing has this frenetic quality to it that would really shine given a wider, more powerful sound.

This is a great ride and a fine collab. Sounds like you've worked together before. (Which could be... I gotta get "out" more!) Nothing to pick on here, it's all good, tight and full of bluster. Keep. Freakin rockin!

I really like this one. Gaylen had fun working on it too! He would listen and then clap his hands like a little boy who just got what he wanted! LOL. I look forward to hearing another one from you guys.
