Perfect Moment

Description
I remember waiting at a bus stop in Milan, many years ago - long before I started to even try leading a more spiritual life - and without warning being completely overwhelmed with this feeling of joy and peace. I didn't quite understand it at the time and just tried to look normal in the crowd but I've since become a bit more familiar with a something like that - when everything is perfect for a moment, tranquil and without any thoughts or worries - mostly while meditating (or you know - trying to:).

This track I did a few years back when I had a similarly inspiring experience and happened to be near my music gear and could just sit down for a few hours in an attempt to just let that energy flow and see what kind of music would come out (and this sentence sounded better in my head).

The photo I took with my phone a few days ago in Hawaii (film festival - "Ocean Monk" - yay!) when I had about an hour's time sitting under a tree, watching the waves catch the first sunlight of the day. A few minutes later there was even a rainbow on the horizon...wish life could always be this magical!

oh pari - what a gift this is! there is a serenity in this that is a wonderful musical description of that kind of moment you described in your song notes. gorgeous - it is such a gift to be able to push a little button and listen to the inner workings of your musical brain - thank you!

My my my...
Karen used the word "serenity." Yes... that pretty much sums it up. Although I would prefer "beautifully serene."

Be well friend!

A moment of inspiring peace
Nicely captured in sound. Interesting textures and evolution. Not a blissful blur, but consciousness focussed and full of joy.

Heyyyy!
What a lovely tune and beautiful crispy sounds ... Nothing is better than a few sounds layered with simplicity and spontaneity ... a way of which you always prove yourself to be a true master ;)) Hope you had a great time in Hawaii!!

Beautiful
Meditative and inspirational. Love the slowly evolving harmonies and the little clangorous tones that chime in periodically to keep things grounded. We get so few of those "perfect moments" in life, so thanks for capturing that feeling in music so well.

Echoes
The breath of ages... the slight dissonance here and there seems to add power, elevating the breath toward the sky (the long reverb helps too.) Grand slow pace as the sunshine washes across the ending of this. Very strong stuff, and well balanced.

Perfect Moment
I was struck how you used simple musical themes to reflect how a perfect moment can come while doing seemingly ordinary things. But that realization can make the moment extraordinary (just like this music).

Beautiful dissonance...
Ambient pieces generally strain my ADD, this one was a joy. The development of the ideas shows clarity of purpose and outstanding musicality.
Superb production... I was on vacation in the Bahamas last week...

Contemplative
There is a grandure about this piece but it is unpretentious and invites contemplation. You did your description justice. Congratulations. Warm regards, Peter.

I just can't understand . . .
how you can make a piece sound so B-I-G! You are so gifted, my friend. God has given you the talent to soar like and angel and lay pieces of heaven at our feet. There is an old proverb that says "a mans gift makes room for him". I sense finally that the clouds are opening and your great gift is finding its place (along with the man himself, of course). I can share with you that your music makes the heart of the listener, want to follow after. As a fellow musician, the effect is tremendously inspiring. So much so that the impulse to create is irresistible! All my best to you and may you receive that great blessing that you yourself give!

feeling blessed
i agree with the last two comments! a grounding piece full of light. i sort of had a feeling, just as you described, driving home watching the full moon rise draped with silky clouds...a moment of perspective and freedom. but for a moment, i became really worried, as i know not enough people take the time to look up and out. thanks, pari, for sharing your blessings. always a pleasure:)

Wonderfully textured sound here. Good movement throughout..and a very nice gradual build up towards the middle.

Have you heard of the term isochronic tones? If not, you should check them out.

Perfect indeed
Are those bowed singing bowls? This is so very calming and etherial, and yet with the drone you've grounded the piece. The result is a spaciousness that draws us fully into the moment. captures the inner essence, in a way, of what a perfect moment is all about. I love how you've kept the VOX well back and softened so that it's almost dreamlike. The flute is a nice touch against the synths and plucked instruments. Love the ending too - with a gentle good-bye it leaves every muscle that much slacker and the heart warmed.

You can let this kind of inspirational energy flow though you ANY TIME YOU LIKE.

Peace,
Doug

wow
this is outstanding. i wish you had included what equipment you used, there are some great sounds here (that resonating pluck-ey sound is wonderful). i love the juxtaposition of the abrasive dissonant elements with the almost new age floating sounds. great track.

Reveries
Adding to what Michael2 said, I also like the melding of cultural textures. Like Hawaii, where east and west and Polynesian all synthesize into something new and evolving, like the islands themselves. I'm a softy for the Irish flute. Dream on. Not enough moments of reverie in this contemporary life we live.
