Lyrics
Everything that you once held
Is gone in a flash
And every time that you turn around
Well there's no one there
Just a pile of ash

Let it fly if it returns
Claim it as your own
Until then remain
And keep your thoughts sane
And don't look back again

This obsession you seem to have
It translates into lust
And you must learn to trust

The sun shines through your window today
Time it still goes on
As graceful as a swan
But time it still goes on
Understand its gone
But time it still goes on
Time it still goes on

hi jody. you've got a repeated theme here and i wasn't sure whether it was going to stand up without some variation to distract. but it works, given the instrumental departure. nice vocal choice and delivery. this must have been an emotionally charged song to have written.

Goes on
The intro and accompaniment, nicely thought out and performed, already introduces the idea of continuity, the wheel going round, almost a sort of mechanical, though melodic, inevitability, going through the remarkable instrumental section (my favourite part of the song) without suffering any hesitation. Nice way to end it.

Enjoyed this. Thanks.

From one picker to another that is some technique you got going Jody. Really well held together and the rhythm is spot on. Nice song well sung as always, yet another great job

Some nice imagery in the lyric ("graceful as a swan"). Beautiful vocal. Exceptionally clean & precise picking. The string pad is a nice complement.

Hi Jody. The repetitive picked acoustic motif works well here because of your clever use of a supportive arrangement. The lyrics are sensitive and contemplative. Really like the quality of the mix and production. Sláinte. Warm regards, Peter.

Other than I would be beaming from above if a good friend wrote and performed a song like this in my memory. Jody---beautiful!

A beautiful meandering tapestry. Nice acoustic work. I love the arpeggio synths. They give it a tick-tock passage of time effect. Well done.

Time it still goes on ....
Loved everything about this, great job on the arps and the volume swells, loved the lyrics and vocals, and I like the outro segment, almost hypnotic. Very much enjoyed!

I know
what angels' singing must sound like now. You lined up some nice instruments to back your guitar and lovely trilling to back up your vocals. Pure pleasure to listen to.
