this has
an indescribable quality about it...maybe an exuberant breeziness, I don't know. I really dig the way the marimba comes in (it is marimba, right?), and then the way the flute overpowers it somehow. I think you worked magic with the mix, as well. Either way, incredible work.

I asume there's quite a bit of MIDI in the backing track. It still comes off as very organic. I think the mallets mixed with your own wonderful recorder playing gives it that woody vibe that makes the MIDI instruments all the more acoustic sounding. Great playing Vic. You are truly amazing and original!

Makes me
want to skip around through a sunlit orchard. Nothing wrong with inspiring a little frolicking. Happy stuff. Thanks for this.

Nice blend
of acoustic and electronic. That flute of yours is gorgeous although... and it might be my speakers.. the flute sounded a touch to bright in places. I think to my ear if it were eq'd slightly different.. say a small bump around 200 and a drop at 10,000 the warmth of the instrument might come through better. It sounded like in some spots it was either on the verge or was clipping. Beautiful none the less. Worthy of both a D/L and a fav.

I hear
a lot of Ryuchi Sakamoto's balancing act in this one. Your chord progression (especially in the piano) flirts with 'nujazz', but the details bobbing around in the background (those plucky little oud or lute sounds, for example) plus that recorder keep things fresh and intriguing all the way through. Very nicely done, Victor.

Very groovy. Love the vibes and the piano lead at 2:00. Awesome flute as always. The guitar midi patch for me is the weak spot, sounds canned, but then I have an ear for that I guess - just as you do for flute in other folks songs... Cool! Thanks!

You're absolutely right
I don't know why it's so hard to sample a guitar, but there it is. I like to have some guitar parts, but they are not the strong point of my tracks.

Lovely Vic
as usual. Definitely a sunny groove.
I didn't hear anything wrong with the guitar but, as you know, I don't hear very well ;-) You might be interested in the Spicy Guitar VST mentioned in the forum. It's a physically modeled, rather than sampled, acoustic with steel or nylon strings. Cheers.

Cool world beat groove. Love the bass line and the background string synth sound. This is a nice full bodied sound, that fits well around the recorder.

Lots of cool elements coming together on this. It has kind of a New Age vibe, and then the flute pulls it all together. An enjoyable listen, thanks for posting.
