Adharine's Lullaby

Description
The words for this lullaby were for a novel I just finished writing, titled "BirthSong." Vocals are a little rough, but I like the rest.

Lyrics
Oh, treasured gift from Heaven above;
Sleep, He gives His beloved sleep.
Rest so secure in His Hands of love;
Sleep, my beloved, sleep.

Though darkness hides His precious Face
Sleep, He gives His beloved sleep.
No one can take you from His embrace;
Sleep, my beloved, sleep.

Someday, tried as purest gold;
Sleep, He gives His beloved sleep.
Your radiant beauty He’ll joyously hold;
Sleep, my beloved, sleep.

Does the job only too well! Lovely sound to fall asleep to!

The sounds of nature are an interesting addition. i suppose they work if you feel nature is kind, and disturb if you don't. i'm glad that you didn't include the whine of a mosquito's wings!

Lovely stuff. Much enjoyed. Thank you.

Nature sounds
Nature, of course, is both of those and more. Kind and terrible, bountiful and ever hungry, Warm as a womb and cold as the depths of space, ever changing and yet bound by set laws. Its sounds are pleasing as a nightingale or annoying as, yes, mosquito wings. One gets from nature what one brings to her. She is, like us (who are a part of her), merely a pointer to something greater."The heavens declare the glory of God" (Psalm 19:1).

Lovely
While you sing of God and heavens, this music has earthliness and humanity written all over it. The mortality and humility of this song is more like a touch of earth rather than a glimpse of heaven, something that touches our mortal soul and we all can relate to emotionally.
