Firsties...
Well, aren't you just delightfully twisted with this! Atonal wanderings are firmly grounded in a repetitive bed, but still are bone-chillingly outside the boundaries of sanity... middle section with oboes(?) is forbidding and chilling... I'm not sure I want to try what you're having... :) very Avant Garde and disturbing. VERY effective. VERY well executed!

he's all over Canada - wish i knew his name - a nice symbolic reference

several conflicting things here / at least the 4/4 keeps a backbone to it - no drums tho: didn't seem to need it

thanks

This goes some interesting places. Suggests contemplation and worry. Would be an effective soundtrack behind a character in a quandary type of scene. Cool stuff.

difficult to stack rocks in 5/4
so given the wild tectonic harmonic nature of this piece, i understand you putting 4/4 on the floor. staccato and slurry. the sacred and the obsidian. you modulate up the hard stone steps with deft flair, as the tones head up to the strata-sphere. it was slippery to keep up with where this was going, but i was happy i did. excellent mind-bending piece, very very well carved. I marble at your skill.

I like the piano and bass that underpins most of the piece. That solid foundation allows you to take the melodic and harmonic liberties you take with the other instruments. Interesting and enjoyable.

It starts pretty jazzy ... I'm groovin" here, interesting as you travel on this strange trip. At about 1:00 soft gentle piano and strings and morphs into haunting oboes and well ... strange dark discordal nuances over a bed that holds it all together. Very cool experimental approach. I enjoyed this.

wow bill
i am insanely jealous of this piece. that is just the coolest melody over the wonky chord structure. very nice.

I am amused, as I often am by your work.

Nice Bill
I like the abstract feel I get from this. Haunting and grounded all at the same time.

Nice work!

Nice and weird
Almost sounds like a half organized orchestra warm up. Weird but somehow a very nice listen all the same. Thanks for sharing.

More
jazz than I can fathom.. I might have re-voiced the bassoon (which sounded a bit too "synthy" (the reed sounded a bit unnatural in some way) as a solo voice when it came in at 01:22 ish) .. but I enjoyed this musing never-the-less... particularly the piano .. the main lead might have worked better with a (real) flute imo.

i hear you about the flute - i work with what i have (no play flute)... but perhaps this would be possible collab thing

yeah, that reed is a bit annoying!

thanks
