Description
This is a song about going to a big party. Or it's a song about reincarnation, depending on your frame of inference. I arranged it for a men's harmony sextet and sang all the parts myself. I recorded it on a Yamaha AW16G digital audio workstation using a Yamaha QY70 for the band. But I did play bongos on it. This recording and this song won Songwriter, Songwriter-Performer, and Musical Performer in the 2011 Creative Urge Awards. http://bit.ly/fWW8BU

Lyrics
These many roads
Took me away
Still every time
I thought I’d stay

I know we’ll just have to wait and see
I know you’ve been waiting just like me
I know we could steal a scene or two
I know we’ll forget when we are through

Some days we’ll have funny things to say
Some days things’ll go the other way
Some days dreams you’d never think come true
Some days surely I’ll remember you

I’ve heard things I thought I might pursue
I’ve heard things somebody else can do
I’ve heard this is how we come unfurled
I’ve heard I’ll see you at the world
I’ve heard I’ll see you at the world

Peter - how glorious!
you are definitely a throwback to some era gone by - and the era was a Good One. i grew up with lotsa barbershop quartets in my house - so this is special to me. "I’ve heard this is how we come unfurled" - nice.
i had no idea what to expect, and really liked what i heard - anne

Love the arrangement and singing, although the reverb seemed to me to be a bit high on this... I wanted to hear those harmonies crisp and clear, they deserve to be unfurled :) Very cool!

Really nice
harmonies and a great sound. The voices were spread nicely. At about :39, drums, bass and rhythm guitars came in but they sounded bunched up just left of center. I wonder how it would have sounded spreading these instruments out with the voices? Anyhow, this recording already won accolades, so what do I know? I really liked this though.
