Description
So I play tennis with a friend of mine and he beats me 6:1 and 6:2. Fine. Two days later he starts the world's longest certified foot race, averaging over 70 miles per day (that's almost 3 marathons every single day) for about 50 consecutive days.

Asprihanal Aalto is one of this year's 10 runners who take on the challenge to complete the unbelievable 3,100 Mile Self-Transcendence Race in New York, and also last year's winner. When I stop by at the race to join some of the runners for a lap - on my bike mind you (easier for me to keep up, than trying to run along!) we usually share jokes or talk about anything inspiring, given that somehow the runners usually are in a better mood and have more enthusiasm than when I show up after what I consider a long day...

Anyways, today they were featured on the local news on NY1, New York Observer and the Huffington Post homepage, so I thought I could post this happy little track in their honor - the photo is from the actual race track - and the choice of samples reminds me of the more unusual challenges they face every day: happy kids on swerving bikes, broken glass, heat waves, thunderstorms etc.

And if they can face all that with a smile on their face I guess I can at least post my fun music session and talk about something you may not hear about every day.

Hey!
Great track as always! I really enjoyed those percussive sounds melted in crispy ambient layers supported with nice bass beat ... it has definitely your handwriting but also brings some Edward Shearmurs music in mind.

The story behind takes me back to days when I walked and visited the race pavements myself. It is a place flooded with inspiring energy and gives everyone an image of what people are capable to achieve. Thanks for sharing this message and for the great listen!
Cheers
Honza

Generous comparison. I'm glad we share that experience - yes, that concrete track has become a special place and every time I visit I walk away deeply inspired. Thanks a lot for your really nice comment!

Run!
This song somehow reminds me the movie "Rain Man", but don't really know why... Is there a chance that its soundtrack features a song that sounds like this nice "6am to midnight"?
Anyway, I like it, downloading!

Great ghostly pads and beats. And that bassline.. mmmm. This should be on a running documentary. Ok, look, there's nothing much else I can say about this, it's well made and well produced, I wish it were longer, and overall, it's AWESOMEE

Sounds grueling:
The race, not the song. The music swirls around effortlessly and weaves a perfect mood of contentment and grace. You are so good. Thanks.

The wide-open spectrum
I always love your use of rhythm and extreme reaches of frequencies, tinkly sparkly highs and rich thick bass work, woven together into a compelling aural story. And an amazing back-story too, I cannot imagine running such a distance, but I *can* imagine it as a great meditative thought-clearing experience. This music is a grand tribute to an amazing challenge.

RE: 6am to Midnight
Excellent, inspiring work as usual, my friend. Top notch sound--this could be dropped into any of the top tier Hollywood shows/movies without changing a note. You never cease to inspire awe and admiration in me with every new piece you post. Thank you.

Wonderful....
Reminds me of the atmospheric work of my good friend Bassic, only funkier... Evocative, fully dimensioned, powerful Symphonic Electronica... Give a great feeling of both the motion and the passage of time that running is... the journey, the pain, the triumph... Impeccably produced, and meticulously crafted. Greatness!!

This
is simply superb. The bass is to die for and the interplay between the synth voices and percussion brilliant. And what a great mix too. My only gripe; [and it often is] far too short!

Your friend sounds like a fit guy!

Love the bottom end and percussion choices in this mix. This has a great wide open feel to it ... makes me want to run and stretch my arms out and feel the wind in my face. Very inspiring.

Sound Palette with Many Colors
As Drak mentioned, you use a very wide range of sounds on this track. I, too, am drawn to the 'sparkly' high sounds, which provide a lot of energy and lift to this music -- along with the percussion groove, of course.

It is a perfect accompaniment to the race story and I wish there were some way that it could have been included in the article in video form. There is a real art to creating excellent background music, and you have achieved that here.

A fine tribute...
Hi Pari. Amazing back story. I couldn't even be bothered driving anywhere near that far on holidays :-) Lovely open, full textured mix. I, too, am drawn to the sparkling highs and the wonderful full spectrum bottom end that you have established. A fine tribute. Take care, Peter.

I agree with Drak
another fine example that shows off one (of many) in particular talent your compositions have: sheer mastery of the freq spectrum. So full and rich sounding as a result. Thanks for sharing Pari.

Always a delight to stop by here
This is a great tune, lots of energy (there's like a slow drive to it that does remind me of long distance running - that balance of pacing with reserve and also a sense of fun). A fine choice of instrumentation and development of the piece. Many thanks!

Pro stuff
A lot going on in this piece on various levels, but you manage to keep everything in its place, nice and crisp. Stunning mix. Reminds ME of Vangelis' album Direct.

Those runners sure are unreal. My knees give up after about two miles of "running" :-/

Thanks for sharing, downloaded of course :-)
