Description
A vocal, guitar, harmonica blues groove from 2005 remixed for, hopefully, some listening pleasure out there.
If not, just count it as another addition to the rebuilding of my song list. It won't last, as they say...

Vocal, guitar, harmonica: Jack Miller
drums, bass: loops.

Song art is a 2001 photo taken from my sailboat of a guy fly fishing on the Intracoastal Waterway (aka the Ditch) in Virginia waiting for the lock to open...

Lyrics
It Won't Last

Looking outside my window tonight
Moonlight shimmering oh so bright.
Sitting here waiting for the day to dawn
Does it matter now that she is gone?
I know that things were happening fast
And her friends are saying - "It won't last."

I tried to find out what went wrong
That's why I'm singing the blues in this song.
She left me high and dry the other night
And I don't even know if I was wrong or right.
I know that things were happening fast
And her friends are telling me- "It won't last."

Well, the times are a changing, that's for real
I was hoping somehow we could make a deal.
By the time she was walking out that door.
I knew we wouldn't be friends no more.
I know that things were happening fast
And her friends are telling me- "It won't last."
*Repeat verse 1
2005 Jack Miller

Gone Fishin
But Jack, now you can go fishing more. If I had a nice boat like that in a beautiful setting . . .

Liked your vocal on this one. Harmonica was quite nice also. Even the drum loop is just right for this song. You just can't go wrong with the blooz. I need to whip one of these out too. They always make you feel better.

I like...
"roll along" blues... easy with an upbeat feel. I think all my blues tunes have that aspect. And nothing makes me smile more than to know this is pleasing the English ear!

cheers....

Good hook. Strong vocals tell a love gone wrong story which fits the blues really well. Nice playing on both the guitar and harmonica.

Yep!
And now for your listening pleasure... Thanks, Jack. I did get a lot of pleasure from this. There is something elemental about a blues chord structure and the re-mix sounds very good to my mind. Your vocals have an almost early Elvis innocence about them that sit nicely on top of the upbeat blues structure. Enjoyed. Regards, Peter.

I really like your lyrics and vocal. It's hard to take a standard blues form and emerge with a song rather than a jam. This is a song and a very good one at that.
