Elite Polka/Septic Truck Part II

Description
Septic Truck at Camp Elite (Part I) is available. Put the two pieces together yourself. This method avoids as much compression as possible. The bass fidelity is much improved. On part II, riff's from Stan Freberg's parody of L. Welk, a California bandleader in the 50s-70s, who had a TV variety program, were added to bring the conflict of culture established in part I forward. Reruns of the Welk programing are available on PBS and Youtube.
I have received a great deal of email from people. Sadly, the patience I normally have in these matters is gone.
This piece is from a cycle called "Improvers of Man". I would like to dedicate this piece of Daug stuff to (removed by request) or (removed by request) as some know him. He writes he may not listen to my tunes anymore, after part one, how nice.
B Flat still. Starts at 79 BPM, then to 156. Guitar solo was done in one pass, left in the mistakes as usual. There is a gate, volume pedal, attenuation and basically the same set up as on "Brace" on the guitar, except I added a clone a fifth above, as I didn't "swell" as much as I might normally, the tempo was too brisk.

Lyrics
You boogie to the left, you boogie to the right
You get lucky in the nursing home every night.
Tell me little baby what you gonna do, when Mr. Wong
come to repossess the blue suede shoes?
Lift your ears, calm your fears, let's dance the Elite Polka.

Well..
...he might listen to your "tunes" as you say, if you produced actual "tunes" (a word I associate with music, even loosely). In fairness, however, when it comes to slapping this kind of stuff together and regardless of what it is supposed to be, you are definitely one of the elite!

Polka
fairly insane--as expected. i *really* could have heard another verse of those vocals somewhere further along rambling road.

gotta say it sounded pretty "hot" in some parts around the middle.

Hello Sam
Thanks for stopping! Welk's arrangements often feature little windows into popular motifs, Welk attempted to stay relevant in this manner. Here, he counts off a polka and we get a shuffle. My band is mocking him (and his audience). The subject matter of Elite Polka is group identity/elitism, Welk's audience was the most homogenous in American history.
He's back counting the polka beat just before the theme appears. Welk was the soft lower middle of entertainment in America for twenty years or so... he sold Dodge cars, Geritol, iron supplements and weight lose potions and earned 100 million dollars or so... Listen to his orchestrations... the forerunner of today's karaoke Kings and Queens, the Lawrence Welk show... lol.
"Hot," you mean clipping in the middle there? Naw! A lot of information is being forced into a small space... lol. The offending noise occurs to the tango rhythm established in part one. The parts in sequence make the humor easier to understand... anyway, thanks for listening. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Sammy said it ... As expected. The description really helped with the Welk allusions. Which made me smile. It's interesting to hear what I gave impressed as daphne / orchid licks with a polka in four. At times a composition written under a circus tent. Well done.

Mr. Fab
Insane? Naw. Carefully planned and executed! Good ears! The Orchid and Daphne voices are on Septic Truck. As Mr. Welk counts out, this piece is considered in two, very difficult thing to improvise at that tempo with my chops... you can hear the sax solo can't ya Andy. Man, I love ya!

Accordion
I LOVE accordion! It has the magical property in an arrangement of standing in for so many things, including the human voice (some say the sax is the closest to the human voice, but I disagree).
Pretty rolicking stuf; that slowdown at the 3 minute mark is a real slog.... and then the suction machine arrives! And it really DOES arrive: that echo left me sad for the loss of the show down the drain.

Thank you and much love,

MoM

Hey MOM
We do owe Mr. Wong, not the system that he supports. We pay him, and our children's children will pay his children. MOM, you have to know this... the blue suede shoes will be paid for...
