Lyrics
It Was All in a Daydream I Had

When I was a little boy
I think I was about the age of nine
Living in the backwoods, but everything was fine
Looking at the sky and waiting for a sign

The only thing I ever saw was the moon and the sun the clouds in my mind
Inside, making shapes in another time
Looking ahead, but kept on falling behind

It was all in a daydream I had

Up and away, just beginning the day
I see all the people just moping around
With their heads to the ground
They’re afraid to make a sound

When I was an older boy
I think I was about the age of ten
I could not think of the right words then
I could be wrong, but I am quite certain
That the daydream I had was really the end

It was all in a daydream I had

Daydream I had…

I like the way this acoustic version draws the listener's attention toward your excellent lyrics. Great sounding acoustic demo. Brought to mind Nirvana's Unplugged record.

cool to hear the original demo dave. 7 years in the making.

Stripped back goodness
Good to hear the original, stripped back version of this quality song. Good songs survive in this format, and this certainly does. Take care, Peter.

sweet
i really love your son of lavalamp personna. this is just perfect, would fit right in with the rest of my music collection. a little syd barrett meets the early stones (you are MJs very own young mick jagger). great track, and I think the production values actually bolster the whole vibe.
