The Stars Run Blindly (MJ Space Race 2011)

Description
From wondrous tales of fabulous beings occupying the heavens to a strict mechanistic reductionism, to a unifying simplicity, perhaps no less wondrous, to … the emergent ever after? What might that be?

The stars blindly run … or do they? Can we ever know?

This isn't exactly space music, but at least the title is based on something in space.

Another ditty from the self-indulgent desk of Ex.

Title taken from the poem "In Memoriam," by Alfred, Lord Tennyson.

Thanks to Drakonis for organizing this year's Space Race Challenge.

The Stars Run Blindly
What? This is incredibly spacey if you ask me! Great entry all in all, impressive movements in the piece and a great title; I love it!

It certainly is
'Spacey' it's like the call of the heavens out there in the black void..... quite beautiful in parts and scary in others...... I love the way you mold the sounds, regards M

I like
the way this one goes... Part breathtakingly beautiful but spiced with the sawtooth formed pain of reality... To say nothing of the song art :-)

I need to come back to this gem. Thanks for the download!

Take care,
Henke

A web is wov'n across the sky
But they cry not the murmurs of that dying sun, but the sound of the universal splendour reborn.

Beautiful
All that is good about space ambient music is encompassed here [despite what you say], and it certainly has your stamp. Top notch mix; delightful indeed.

Ex-quisite
This has a documentary sounding feel to it that could be used in science whether here on home or space. Great composition-well done!

night trip
i'd say it's definitely space music - it evokes thoughts of vast expanses of interstellar clouds condensing into stars and planets - glowing wonders

the explorers travel through the scene, and we are lucky enough to be riding in the back seat staring out the window

thanks

Incredible
This isn't space music?!?!?!? It sounds like what God Himself listened to when he was creating the heavens. Perfect if you ask me.

I've always enjoyed the
concept of our galaxy existing in a locker on another cosmos' space port. Expansion and birth and infinite wonder. You wrote the opening symphony for the creation of everything. What a brilliant soundtrack for a presentation at Griffith's Observatory this would be! Thanks.

Musical Poetry - and spacey too
As Yogi Berra might have said, "For being one of the masters of Space Ambient, you sure are good at it". Graceful evolutions, almost a female chorus coming in here and there, suggestions of space but not emptiness. That mid section starting at 2:50 is interesting in its use of a repeating beat - not something I would have expected but very effective against the other rising and falling tones set against it. After some lovely floaty bits around 7:15 you build tension to the big finish in what I think is a very cool way.

Another gem for the old iPhone - many thanks Ex!

It's spacey, alright
You have some great synths in your arsenal (that 'vox humana' section near the beginning is a keeper), and your pacing is perfect. Many moods; many modes. Fine job!

Sounds deep to me
I can dig this sitting here at the table and likely even more lying in bed later with the lights out and the day draining from my brain. Very cool post.
