Description
The Sombrero Galaxy (also known as M104 or NGC 4594 ) is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo located 28 million light years from earth. It has a bright nucleus, an unusually large central bulge, and a prominent dust lane in its inclined disk. The dark dust lane and the bulge give this galaxy the appearance of a sombrero. The galaxy has an apparent magnitude of +9.0, making it easily visible with amateur telescopes. The large bulge, the central supermassive black hole, and the dust lane all attract the attention of professional astronomers.

*This is the extended version of a composition that was entered into MJ Space Race 2011.

enjoy
that dramatic telestar feel the way the hit tune telestar starts off.
Cool landing feel.
Makes me think of the April 24th, 1964 episode with Lonnie Zamora and Gary Wilcox :) Would make great music for Unsolved Mysteries !!!!

I'm happy
you posted this extended version. It's filled up nicely. This type of music definitely benefits from a languid expansion and it breaths more easily. Wonderful mix as well Scotty.
Cheers,
Charlie.

Very nice
A nice journey to listen to. Thanks, this piece turned out very nice. Subtle with smooth transitions. This is different from what I'm used to hearing from you, which is a good thing :)

M104 and M57 The Ring Nebula are some my favorites to view. Thanks again for sharing.

Keep on
extending, I like where this is going. The SRC entry was nice but did sound a bit "staccato" testing a few different ideas, but this feels more homogeneous and I was just a little disappointed that it ended so soon... Anyway, thanks for sharing, really cool stuff.

Take care,
Henke

Fine work...
Pity that in space no one can hear you applaud. Fine work, Scotty. Enjoy the various "movements". Regards, Peter.

The Sombrero Galaxy v2
Trippy, but I guess that's appropriate for a homage to a galaxy 28 million light years away. Great sound choices and production.

The Sombrero Galaxy v2
That 1;30 to 2:00 section is an absolute beauty. 3:00 and beyond is gorgeous. Wonderful piece. Do you suppose that musicians in Sombrero are composing songs about our milky spiral?

Galactic expansion
The galaxy has benefited from expansion. You have an ear for ambient as well as classical and jazz, and you keep it interesting. A lot of ambient is boring after the initial sounds are introduced. There are seeds here for future development I'd love to hear.
