Description
A little two minute ditty I put together this week and recorded this afternoon - I guess the clue is in the picture. As always I wrote the tune first but, struggling to come up with lyrics, I adapted these (first 2 verses) from an unattributed poem found on the web (author unknown)

cheers and thanks for listening
Phil

Lyrics
The Perfect Drug

It uses so little energy
But yields results consistently
Relieves your tension and your stress
Invigorates your happiness
Combats depression, makes you beam
And elevates your self-esteem
My friend may I prescribe to you a hug

No moving parts, no batteries
No monthly payments and no fees
Inflation-proof, non-taxable
In fact, it's quite relax-able
It can't be stolen and won't pollute
One size fits all, do not dilute
My friend may I prescribe to you a hug

When you’re feeling down and nothing’s right
There’s a simple intervention for your plight
If that uphill slope has filled you with despair
We’ll soon have you up and walking on air

It just takes someone close to you
To recognize what’s overdue
Forget fancy pharmacology
And it’s opaque terminology
Without unpleasant side effects
Your affliction this corrects
My friend may I prescribe to you a hug
It’s just got to be, I think, the perfect drug

Big grin!
Hug is the drug, as Brian Ferry might have sung. This is really nice: the idea, the lyrics, the playing and the vocals. A lovely antidote for a grey day, and the picture's a charmer. Thanks.

The Perfect Drug
I like the way you adapted the lyric to your music, it sounds like it was intended this way all along. Nice picking, and the production on the acoustic sounds great. 1 mic @ the soundhole the other @ the 12th fret?
