Lyrics
Some things are better left unsaid Words and Music Franciscus Henri
(Orient Pacific Music)

I took your number out of the memory
Of my mobile phone today
Tore the page out of my diary
With your address on it and I threw it away
Threw my shoe at your picture
It broke the glass and the frame
And then it fell off the wall
I tried to throw away something you gave
But you never gave me anything at all

Some things are better left unsaid,
Some things are better put to bed
Some things are better left behind
Some things are better left unsaid,
Some things are better put to bed
Some things are better left behind

I got your e-mail from the Caribbean
To say you were on holidays in Spain
You said you met some one who reminds you a lot of me
I don’t want to hear that old story again
A man took pictures of you on the beach
Without your bathing suit on
You went back to his hotel to buy the negatives
But they said he’d gone

CHORUS

I was standing in the middle of Vancouver when a man with a French accent
Asked to use my telephone
He dialled a twenty-digit number to Moscow
Said that he was calling home
He said he was a prophet
Said he could read the writing on the wall
I cross the street against a red to have a look
There was nothing written there at all

enjoyable... welcome finally!
A fun upbeat piece of music that hides an undercurrent of darker lyric... but that re-enforces your idea of "leaving it behind" and moving on. Nice. At first, the rapid-delivery of lyrics was unusual, but I think it works OK. Very good song-writing, playing and singing and mixing.

Thanks so much..there is a dark side, there usually is.
I used to do the song faster but no one knew what I was singing about.
In concert I get couples to hold hands look into each others eyes and sing the last chorus..great fun.

Very nice
and you are able to get an awful lot of words out, not only in the required time, but also so they are understandable. Good job and a good tune.

Welcome!
Good to see you've made it to MacJams! What a fun song this is. I enjoyed playing on it - and Ollie , the noisy next door dog, has managed to insinuate himself into the recording at one stage, too. After a too-many-years-to-really-say break, it's great to be back working with you!

It can only get better, and I love the response so far. It could have something to do with the dog.

Clever..
and easy going... I could never have crowded so much to say in such a fashion per line, and so well. Harmonies are great.

Welcome to MacJams!

This tale has fun twists. Your melody is quite catchy and the instrumentation is tasteful.

A fine debut
Hi Franciscus. A belated welcome to MJ. A fine debut. Great to hear you here. A good song that maintain its positivity in spite of life's tribulations. I like the instrumentation and Phil did a fine job on the mix. Enjoyed! Regards, Peter.

The mix
Thanks, Peter, but I should say that it was Franc making most of the decisions about the mix - I was just trying to make it happen! It is good to have two sets of ears on things, though.
