The Vanishing Night

Get Flash to see this player.

Developing a theme for a new documentary I am producing, titled "The Vanishing Night." This is a rough version, but the melody is there. The documentary explores how the night sky, which has inspired people for thousands of years, is disappearing before our very eyes.

Enjoyed it.
Sorry to preach a little.

Excellent topic of composition. I agree, where has the night sky gone? (For me) is that money never sleeps therefore has to keep the machines of industry working day and night. People love light and will do anything to keep their world illuminated at any cost. Okay, phew got it out.

This piece may reflect the busyness of our lives, and with the Eastern sounds denote the new super power that is taking industry to a whole new level. That's what I got. Maybe my mind is on overtime because I just started my day and it is 11:30pm. Flips on the light...

Very nice
Some lovely sounds, especially like the Asian string instrument [whatever it is!] that comes in half way through. I look forward to a full length and mastered version of this. Real nice. Good subject material too.

It's neat...
...to hear a bit of Tom Atwood on MacJams again... Takes me back to the old days...

This seems a very 'visual' piece, in that I find myself conjuring up imagery as it plays, all in keeping with the 'vanishing night' theme... You've got a nice blend of the modern and the ancient going here, Tom, and what seems to my ears to be a good pace for a documentary...
