You...
...can do no wrong in my eyes (ears?). It take a special musician to bring futzpucker out of hiding--beat me by thismuch in being the first to fave this, yet another stellar bit of work from you. Thanks for sharing it with us. I'm also glad to see you have a website up and running. It will be nice to have a place to check in and see what you're up to.

Lush
as the photo you've chosen. The 8th note motif sets up something slightly sinister and the build as you get into the first 1:30 suggest a perhaps-not-pleasant surprise is in store. In other words, there is a narrative here that I am sure can be interpreted in many ways. ... I love the way you peel (peal) off a melodic line around 2:30 which just opens up the repeated harmonic backing nicely. The general contour of this is very satisfying and the overall "sound" is rich. (At the end I kind of want to whisper, "It's ALIVE." (cf. the conclusion of the first book of Game of Thrones.)

Game of Drones
i tried to create a musical contrast between the fragility of an ecosystem and the power of a wake up call. the music was used for a project encouraging sustainability and environmental awareness (www.equatorinitiative.org). i even thought about a title this time around - on one hand a somber mood (a 'wake' for declining ecosystems) and the 'awake' part would stand for a more dynamic, empowering theme. anyways, you leave the most interesting comments...thanks for that!

Awake
There seems to be a tension at play that wanders between the light and the dark. Much the same, to me, as the artwork. The picture can be enchanting, or sinister, depending on your point of view. Stimulating and engaging music. Thanks for sharing it with us. Much enjoyed. Regards, Peter.

Amazing soundscape. I love the evolution of this and the choice of instrumentation. Very well done. Everything sounds great. The mix, choice of reverb. Very impressive work!

Thank you Steve!
i tried to cut down on effects over time, and pick instruments with the right sound and feel to minimize the need for post production. then there's only panning left to do and basic mastering. it's great that you're able to appreciate this kind of music, given that you're an excellent guitar player and singer who doesn't need a computer at all to create beautiful music!

A Wake
Enveloping goodness. I don't hear anything sinister. It sounds attentive and alert, but with no anxiety, although the sun is going down and the chill grows as the ending approaches. Captivating piece of music. You always manage to get superior sound quality.

thank you.
that's a great compliment actually - i always try to have an inner intensity and be outwardly calm when creating music (i said 'try' right?;). whenever i lack inspiration or that inner attentiveness, the result doesn't give me any joy. really happy that you heard that in this track, and a real compliment coming from a sound wizard who's obviously no stranger to excellent sound quality!

Awake
I love the contrast between the powerful bass elements (great bass melody) and the lighter instrumentation. Positive and mysterious emotions for me. A joy listening to.

(Is it just me or is there a compression dip or something at 3:06?)

Compelling music. There is a sense of power and a darker side, but on top a lightness and calmness. Interesting! Beautifully mixed - the various instruments complement each other perfectly. Excellent work.

let's see...
i'm using Logic Pro with the latest Kontakt engine and F8 and Massive for bass and synth flutes/accents, Symphobia 2 for strings, Absynth for ambient synths, Battery 3 for percussion and and old Stormdrum library for the big drum hits. Most of those samples libraries are part of Native Instruments' Komplete 8 library.

Very good
and engaging cinematic music. Pro quality as usual from you, but the sound is a bit different from most of your other songs, I think. Not necessarily a bad thing I guess...

I spent some time on your website yesterday as well and was very impressed. Good looking and sounds even better :-)

Always a positive experience listening to your music. Great thanks for sharing.

Take care,
Henke

Inspiring
music. Something just waiting to give a lesson or fulfill a promise. The whole circle of life in sound. A swamp looks like it's sleeping in murk and moss but shine a light in and you see all the life. Thanks.

Driving and purposeful
I don't mean in a pushing sense, or with an over-evolved level of urgency, and yet there is a subtle determination in the string theme that brings new momentum to the arpeggiated harp-like sound which adds power and beauty at the same time. The arc of this piece reminds me a bit of a Ludovico Einaudi composition although your orchestration is much less minimalistic.

The other sense I have is that there is a video to go with this. I see reading down the comments that this is what you also had in mind contrasting power and fragility and I think you have hit the nail right on the head.

Lovely work Pari. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Doug
