A Touch Of Blue

Description
The title just popped into my head because of the "blue" notes that drop in now and again in this mellow little song. Easy Listening — Go ahead: shut your eyes, relax, and just drift away...to... somewhere else. My recipe for a peaceful time. And if you are interested in seeing the score, you can find it here:

blue velvet
very nice piece paul. you really are doing a great job with the backing strings. i hear a little more advance composition with each post using them.

and no, this would not fit into the david lynch movie :-)

Blue notes
I like them! A very "American" sounding composition, if there is such a thing. Wonderful orchestration to accompany you playing. Soothing and relaxed. Simply nice!

The new orchestra is sounding good
The flute is very effective and the drifts into the blue notes is a neat twist that pushes it just far enough away from easy listening and avoid being too sweet!

Cheers

Dick

I thought
at fist it was going to be a cover of the 60's ballad 'Blue Velvet', so was very pleasantly surprised to hear this , as you say 'easy listening' piece.... it could just as well be the music to a romantic film.... lovely work, regards M

Blue
very lovely little piece here the flute add a sweet flavor to the piano .For some reason I put my attention over the bass line in this piece , I understand the idea of the left hand in the piano but the strings ? I feel you put the volume so low and maybe this is how it sounds so ethereal ? ..thanks a lot for sharing !

A touch of blue
In my opinion, this piece has a bit more musical credibility and complexity to be classified as just "easy listening", Paul. It creates a romantic mood, to be sure, but it adds a number of genuinely interesting elements that take it beyond that genre. Thanks for the fine post. Regards, Peter.

This is such a beautiful piece
and you make it seem so easy. Deep bows, as Feter used to say; you deserve them. Needless to say, I took a copy. Thank you.

This
would soothe any savage beast enough so he'd forget what he was so mad about. It also might turn his thoughts towards love instead of war. An antidote to Wagner, perhaps? Thank you.

A Touch Of Blue
A lush and romantic piece that would work well as a film score. Strings and flute are a great addition to the exceptional piano.
