Lyrics
Dust in the wind

I wasn't ready
For a life without you
I wasn't ready
Who's gonna pull me through

Dust in the wind
We're just passing by
Dust in the wind
With a laugh and a cry

I didn't know
That it was so hard
I didn't know
I feel so torn apart

Dust in the wind
We're just passing by
Dust in the wind
With a laugh and a cry

Losing a friend
Is like losing a part of your life
Losing a friend
You know, it cuts like a knife

Dust in the wind
We're just passing by
Dust in the wind
With a laugh and a cry

Dust in the wind
Bright guitar and deep bass start this well. Vocal has an emotional tone that's right for the lyrics. Harmonies fill it out nicely. I like the tone of the lead guitar - has a great ring to it. Thanks for the download!

DUST IN THE WIND
That's a very interesting acoustic guitar sound. It may be the compression and your picking approach, but it has a unique electric character. Almost like a semi-hollowbody electric. I like the double tracked vocal. Great chorus.

hey Andrew
I have a Takamine with a built-in pickup, send that through a Pod guitarprocessor with rather neutral settings except for a bit of reverb
Thanks for stopping by

Kansas?
No, it's not that famous Kansas-Song. :) Very nice guitar intro and then comes the line "I wasn't ready for a life without you" I like the melody and the lyrics. The Lead guitar sounds great as well, enjoyed!

I
like the chord sequence and the nice clean guitar fills.
A lovely melody with some fine vocals and lyrics, great to hear you play an acoustic song Cees.
Very much enjoyed, thanks.

Wonderful band...
The musical background with very solid bass and guitars is appealing right from the very beginning of the number. I have two thoughts as suggestions (if you don't mind): expand your lyrics to tell more of a story; carefully check your vocal pitch. ... I really like the feeling of this song and its generally gentle nature. I thought if there were a little bit more of a narrative it would add some interest to the whole.

DUST IN THE WIND
It is good to hear the "solo" acoustic KC for a change. Nice guitars and the layered vocals work well to keep things interesting and build the arrangement. Nice vibe. Congratulations. Regards, Peter.

Dust in the wind
I like this song...it really hit me when you reveal the meaning behind the lament of the first few verses. The reserved lightness of the song indicates that enough time has passed to deal with loss in a more fruitful way - appreciation, being grateful and moving on.

Not sure if this song comes from a personal experience or imagined, but it feels sincere and is really moving. That goes for both the vocals and lyrics. The mix handles the guitars and double vocals so well, you really don't need any percussion. Gives it more depth and a softer flow. And at the end I'd turn over the sand clock and listen to it again.

Loss
much as I liked the musical arrangement it was the lyrics that drew me in. One part of me wants to know who the person was but on the other hand by keeping it vague it becomes more universal to anyones loss. Glad I chose to play this one. cheers mark
