Description
My performance of perhaps my favorite ragtime composition of all time, the GRACEFUL GHOST RAG (1971) by William Bolcom. It is in Bb minor and contains some pretty stunning harmonic progressions. It also features a recurring Baroque lamento bass line (8 b7 b6 5) supporting the main theme which accounts for some of its sadness. Hope you like.

Holiday greetings from San Francisco.

George

Not
your usual rag. A bit more gentle. Pretty swell. Thanks.

Graceful
you have added a graceful element to the rag format - it works well. It has a sadness to it, I think - like something out of a silent movie when the hero is lamenting. Much enjoyed!
