Lyrics
Making love to you
In the flat at Winston Street
Maybe below
There's a battle in the street
Sun is dying in the sky
Burning skin and blinding eyes
Morning curtains safe inside
Lager dead begin to rise

Here at the fall of the western world
We will spend our days in bed

And the zombies roam
Clutching phones
Still going about their days

About their days
Their every days

Half a day away
I never even knew your face
Now the world could end
We wouldn't even feel a trace
I will love you safe and sound
High above the battle ground
Giant robots come and go
Lost in love we'd never know

Here at the fall of the western world
We will spend our days in bed
Here at the fall of the western world
We'll avoid the living dead

The zombies roam
Clutching phones
Pecking words
And Angry Birds
Still going about their days

...end of the Western World
Much enjoy your creation, peeg. Original and confident, cool lyrical content and whimsical sound. I'll have to find out what a Mid 8 is..

Mid 8
Hi Lyzak

Thank you very much for you comments, you are very kind.

It's the Middle 8 for the song. A sort of musical and lyrical shift that goes on for 8 or so bars and sets the song up for the end. Always handy to keep up interest in a tune and and put a twist on the words.

The words I have in mind are....

And the stars fall from the sky
And the moon crash in the sea
And the swarm hegemonizing
Will pass us by, you and I.

awesome
Love that natural sound you have on the production. Nice song too - lovely juxtaposition against the the lyrics - makes you feel that nothing can get you down.

First time I think I have heard a song of yours, Paul. Glad I stopped by. Engaging pop song with a nice retro vibe and quirky lyrics. Quality vocals and a sympathetic arrangement. Much enjoyed. Thanks, Peter.

Cha cha cha
The logical disconnect between the lyrics and the instrumentation really works for me. That high harmony is sweet!
Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyable listen
First time I've heard one of yours, I think. Interesting, in a good way, vocal styling over pleasant playing. I dig the lyrics too: let the rest of the world pass by while you and your friend are content to cuddle together.
