Beautiful!
Nice light touch on this, Daug: the FX on Alannah's vocals take their time to bloom (I love the way that track morphs back and forth between being an obvious vocal and then sounding like a modeled synth, especially at the beginning). Your arrangement covers a lot of emotional ground, and the sax is right on all the way through.
A great way to start the day! Thank you!

I am loving this sultry piece! Great collab you two!
Great music bed for Alannah vocals that are spectacular in this, I am always intrigued in what she does in her work, and she really shines in this!!!

Hello Tim
There are some 25,000 versions of this tune. Miles take is nice and of course Sam Cooke and Ella have great versions. Our version is unique and hopefully memorable.

nice
I am sure climate change will continue to raise the temp and doubt it will be the last of the summertime wine - we have already had a few 90 degree plus days here and I am dreading the onslaught of summer

I really like the sound you have created here...kudos to all involved but I have a question about the vocals...were you working with AIF or mp3 files? did you bit crunch/distort them in some way? if so, would you consider trying a mix with a different EQ on the vocals that would reduce a little of the harshness that the low resolution seems to introduce. Just a thought and even if you did nothing to the mix this would still be great

Ah Hello B
Nothing to do with climate change... sorry. We approached the thing as a change in consciousness. The answers to your posers: #1 yes and yes, #2 no bytes were crushed/distorted or gain staged #3 the quality you note was crafted.
The process used to get the vocal sound is a Daug trick. If you listen closely you can hear 5 distinctly different main vocal tracks. All of them discreetly processed. Sometimes they sound like ghosts and pop out to make a statement. They appear and disappear as needed to get the emotional depth of the vocal. So like consciousness the vocal evolves. There are several special effect vocals as well. Thanks for your interest.

Your music never fails to interest - there's always something different going on. The varied treatment of the vocals is inspired. The sax is impressive. The arrangement is creative. I like this a lot.

How many years did it take Daug to convince me to come on over to the dark side and become a siren ? ....... However, once he plied me with Mezcal I was putty in his hands ..... and Mr. Fab ... that sax of your's will NEVER get old .... LUV LUV LUV it always .....

A Siren at last
I knew you could, just had to put your mind to the task. You really rang out every bit of emotion in this tune... thanks for your help with the arrangement and mix! What happens at Andy house stays at Andy's house ;)

The first minute of this is superb
then there's a bit (maybe 30 seconds) of weirdness that I think doesn't work, leading into the sax intro and the balance of the vocal. The last two minutes are pretty cool although I had to listen to Alannah with one ear and devote the other to Andy. Take it for what it's worth (and consider the source ;-)

Richard!
Recall the device you called "a truck back-up alarm" when we made "Daddy's Little Girl". The weird section you mentioned in this tune serves a similar function. Thanks for the listen. Your comments are always unique.

I had a chuckle re the genre before I listened. Easy listening in the Daug house??? But of course your take on it is creative and unique. That said, anytime the double A's are in the house the outcome will be well worth listening to and this didn't disappoint. Alannah insinuates herself into the track and Andy just stands up as always. Fine arrangement. Thanks, Peter.
