Description
Not much to say about this track. I intended on having vocals but I never could get a melody in mind so I never got around to lyrics. The title is the area code to the West end of the Phoenix area where I grew up. I just needed a title and it seemed fitting, but for no real reason. One of these days I'll get around to lyrics but RPM was just too much for me and this song.

Lyrics
Books. Check 'em out.
Books. Check 'em out.
Pick up a book.
You got a fantasy?
Imagination can take you
Where you want to be.
Are you curious?
How can you find out?
Books. Check 'em out.

Read about stars and cars,
Play electric guitars.
Cops that work hard
Patrolling the boulevard.
The heavyweight champ
In his craziest bout.
Books. Check 'em out.
At your library.

The opening scene from an indie film about the isolation many feel in their youth. Has a great vibe. Love the guitar sounds. Simple but very effective.

The combination of the echo laden guitar and the sitar-like sound gives the piece a restful, slightly far eastern vibe that is still full of optimism. Enjoyed, Peter.

Has a pavement feel
Someone should just every once in a while shout something random. This is the kind of thing that I like to play when I pick up the guitar, watch tv, and work out a little melody and just keep working it, making it sweeter, coming up with new turnarounds...it's why I play guitar, those chiming strings. DL'd.

Catching up
I've missed so much. I love that motif at the start, as true an indie rock sound as I ever heard. Puts me in mind of Yo La Tengo or Yuck. Lovely interplay. I can imagine a breathy vocal. The change at 1:10 is beautiful. This is such a gentle evocative mood. It makes me think of Sper 8 footage shot through the window of a pickup on a hot dusty road somewhere deep in the mid west. Gorgeous. It works so well as an instrumental I think leaving the vocals out was a great call.
